For quitting, I recommend "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr. It had me happily off the habit for a good while. The only reason I went back was because of a series of unfortunate events in California that ruined my vacation and led to a pretty hopeless short-term depression. And at the moment I just don't care to quit again. Timing is important.

Went into Leader and bought a I806 fork then cruised the bike shops around North and South Park.

I have to say just about every shop around there is awesome and the people are friendly. Went into the Adams Avenue shop and the guy made me an espresso and let me sit down look through the headset bin. pretteh kewl

That's pretty nuts. Quitting cold turkey isn't easy I've heard. I've had a raging headache all day.

I have a friend of mine that switched to those as well, seems pretty cool. Healthwise, how are they?

No toxic chemicals from combustion like regular cigs, just vaporized nicotine, flavorings and either propylene glycol or vegetable glycerin. There is a ton of info on health concerns and stuff on that forum. From what I've read and experienced it seems much healthier than smoking but obviously not as healthy as doing neither.

Today I replaced two spokes on my rear wheel. Unfortunately, the only shop that was both within walking distance and open only had silver spokes, which look odd on bronze-black-bronze wheels. Tonight, I nerd out with some Legend of the Five Rings. Hellz yeah.

Do you ride brakeless on the street? Or is the Pista just your dedicated track bike?

f***ck I love this Mash. Rode out to the moontower here for dinner after doing some errands on my bike as well. I know a lot of it has to do with me replacing my drivetrain though. harder gear ratio + sugino 75 = some fun ass riding. I did just under 30 miles today without doing any 'I'm going to ride x amount of miles today' mindset, was purely from just using my bike to do everything. normally I'd have a heat stroke from that (houston).

max5480 10-05-11 12:53 AM

yeah hamfoh, good choice

redpear 10-05-11 01:35 AM

Today I played in the rain with my bike.

Note: probably ruined my back tire.

adriano 10-05-11 01:43 AM

playing in the rain is fun and easy because tire friction and damage are minimized.

EpicSchwinn 10-05-11 02:14 AM

Today I bought a banjo on the cheap at a pawn shop. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Nice! What kind and is it tuned to G or C? If you lived in Chicago, I'd give you some lessons.
