Good to see you left the frilly curtains.

You should see my frilly mechanic apron. This entire room is pathetic. I shut it off from the rest of the house so no one sees it. It's also the laundry room. Sweet curtains, wall paper, ceiling fan, carpet, and that fake wood panel stuff. Hasn't been changed in 35 years I think.

That's awesome Trevor!

Jaytron 11-05-11 10:52 PM

Nice job man. What stand is that? I like that it's so compact. It doesn't look very stable though?

LesterOfPuppets 11-05-11 11:06 PM

The blue Eddy Merckx is a stunner!

Jaytron 11-05-11 11:17 PM

Today I am slowly realizing that this old Schwinn I picked up for free-ninety-nine may be more trouble than it's worth to keep.

seau grateau 11-06-11 12:32 AM

Rode rollers for the first time ever. How 'bout a WTF moment there. I'm gonna try again tomorrow when it isn't 2am and freezing outside so I can process this whole thing a little more competently.

Put a new tube in my front tire..(i run Zaffiro's) and those ****ers are so tight i bust my knuckles trying to put them back on.

Rode the the bar, left the bar noticed the bead to the front tire was shot and coming out of the rim and then it popped so i walked my ass home.

Over 40million+ 7-day active users and growing every day. I'd say so.

I've got one of those AP series Rummy bags (same bag as the normal Rummy, but different materials). There is velcro on the flap that covers the two quick access cargo pockets and on the flap to secure the main opening if you want to use it in roll-top mode. The velcro is really loud but strong. So strong that I'm hesitant to call those cargo pockets quick-access.

Anyways, if you want any more info I'm happy to share.

It's a Park model of some sort. Foldable legs, adjustable height. It's quite stable enough with a bike on it. It wiggles a little but not enough to be a problem. I've had it a long time.

There aren't a lot of Trevors. I'm a bit on the older side and for my age it's even more rare I believe. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been in a public place where I heard someone call out for Trevor and it wasn't intended for me.

Do you hate when people call you Travis as much as me?

Stop fussing over it and ride the damn thing. It was free.

Today I:

Plan to roll on the rollers

I have two google+ accounts but never look at 'em. I'm a .00007-day active user.

Scrodzilla 11-06-11 09:13 AM

I don't even know what Google+ is and couldn't be bothered to find out. I'd much rather just live a real life.

LesterOfPuppets 11-06-11 09:25 AM

... tempted to get one of these but don't wanna buy without try.

$200 isn't that bad... I'd say go for it.

Hahaha, I'm trying to get the thing running well, and fitting correctly!

Eh, at least with this bike, I can take my time with it.

I've actually got one in my Amazon cart for $188.49 shipped. Trying to not press button.

Today my knees are killing me and the only thing I can think of is I've been riding my FG more in the past 3 days than I had in months.

I also kinda want to buy a lighter (aluminum maybe) cross frame but I can't afford to build up a new cross bike.

seau grateau 11-06-11 12:17 PM

First successful roller ride. So much fun, it was like learning to ride a bike all over again.

I also had my first experience on rollers the other day. It took a little getting used to :P

But, it actually was easier than I expected. Feel the same?

If you don't mind, I'd love to hear more! Is there a large interior pocket? Because I thought that the large flap that covered it up was only secured by clips.

Yeah, definitely. Once I got set up the right way, I was up to a nice smooth spin in a matter of minutes. I've got mine just a few inches from the wall so I can lean my shoulder against it with both hands on the bars while I start to spin up. Almost rode off the drums once when I drifted too far, but no actual falls.

Sure. You're right the large interior pocket is covered by a flap that's secured by clips but you can also roll that flap down and secure it with a velcro flap as seen here:

http://missionworkshop.com/images/pr...lled-Front.jpg

You can see the other bit of velcro on the flap that covers those two quick-access cargo pockets:

http://missionworkshop.com/images/pr...-Ext-Cargo.jpg

My mini krypto ulock fits nicely in to one of those pockets along with some cables.

Inside the zippered compartment:

http://i.imgur.com/BJKiul.jpg

There's a large pocket with its own zipper (bottom), a large opening (middle) and finally three compartments that are accessed via another zipper (top).

That's a blackberry on the right in one of the three compartments to give you some scale. The compartments aren't that shallow; they're about twice the height of the blackberry.

I love it. It's incredibly well made and will likely last forever. One thing I don't get is the website says the cross-chest stabilizer is detachable, but on mine it clearly isn't. The main strap can be attached so you can wear it over either shoulder, so it would make sense that the stabilizer strap could be switched too. I really should email mw about that.

I hope that helps!

Why not get a lighter frame and swap all the parts from the current cross bike? Then you could either sell the old frame or build the new one a part at a time, while putting the old parts back on the old bike?
