I don't even know what Google+ is and couldn't be bothered to find out. I'd much rather just live a real life.

$200 isn't that bad... I'd say go for it.

Today my knees are killing me and the only thing I can think of is I've been riding my FG more in the past 3 days than I had in months.
I also kinda want to buy a lighter (aluminum maybe) cross frame but I can't afford to build up a new cross bike.

First successful roller ride. So much fun, it was like learning to ride a bike all over again.

I've got one of those AP series Rummy bags (same bag as the normal Rummy, but different materials). There is velcro on the flap that covers the two quick access cargo pockets and on the flap to secure the main opening if you want to use it in roll-top mode. The velcro is really loud but strong. So strong that I'm hesitant to call those cargo pockets quick-access.
Anyways, if you want any more info I'm happy to share.

Yeah, definitely. Once I got set up the right way, I was up to a nice smooth spin in a matter of minutes. I've got mine just a few inches from the wall so I can lean my shoulder against it with both hands on the bars while I start to spin up. Almost rode off the drums once when I drifted too far, but no actual falls.

You can see the other bit of velcro on the flap that covers those two quick-access cargo pockets:

My mini krypto ulock fits nicely in to one of those pockets along with some cables.
Inside the zippered compartment:

There's a large pocket with its own zipper (bottom), a large opening (middle) and finally three compartments that are accessed via another zipper (top).
That's a blackberry on the right in one of the three compartments to give you some scale. The compartments aren't that shallow; they're about twice the height of the blackberry.
I love it. It's incredibly well made and will likely last forever. One thing I don't get is the website says the cross-chest stabilizer is detachable, but on mine it clearly isn't. The main strap can be attached so you can wear it over either shoulder, so it would make sense that the stabilizer strap could be switched too. I really should email mw about that.
I hope that helps!

Why not get a lighter frame and swap all the parts from the current cross bike? Then you could either sell the old frame or build the new one a part at a time, while putting the old parts back on the old bike?

i sold my light aluminum cross geared for a heavy steel cross single and i love it.
i think the better component spec and better fit a bike is to you, the more you'll like it, nearly regardless of weight.
but i would say taking care of your knees come before parts swapping. gear down, stop riding fixed for cross season, etc?

See above re: components
Also, three CX races in isn't really enough to justify upgrading my bike in any way. I'm just having fun and no need to worry about being competitive. I worked a bike valet for our bike film fest this weekend and that's what started my current New Bike Lust. Hoping it will pass soon enough.

Today I took my fixed gear out and bought some brake cable so I could install the new bars/stem/brakes.

There aren't a lot of Trevors. I'm a bit on the older side and for my age it's even more rare I believe. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've been in a public place where I heard someone call out for Trevor and it wasn't intended for me.
Do you hate when people call you Travis as much as me?

Looking to maybe get past that.
