I had a super awesome/relaxing day off. Rode to a friend's house, made brunch, chilled our asses off, almost got hit by a car that ran a stop sign, Hung out with the wife, watched a friend/former boss win an Executive Chef job on Food Network, and now I'm going to bed at 10pm.
In this moment, life is ill. |
Today I:
Saw a 90's custom painted Schwinn Paramount. Gloss Red. It looked amazing. I really hope to hook up with a painter one of these days. |
Just built up my 721. Had a Cane Creek headset installed at the lbs, put on my Easton stem and Salsa Short & Shallow drops, Arione, SRAM s300 cranks and same old wheelset. Felt great on first trip around the block. Looking forward to riding it tomorrow...

Today I received my purple Draft Lite from Bonktown's Cyber...Tuesday deal thing. I'm going to do my best to not punch out and assemble it until 5pm.

(Yesterday) I finally got shipping confirmation for my SRAM bits. They should be here by next Wednesday. It's going to be a longggggggggg week of finals.

Today I had another awesome ride on my new Soma Rush. It's about the closest I've ever been to FG nirvana. It's also awesome to be 65 and have a body that can make a bike like this do its thing. Getting old isn't bad if you're healthy and fit. :D

ahh. filled w/ the goodness of my wife's awesome turkey soup. perhaps having a cup of coffee and a hundred pushups for lunch was not the best idea. but, as i'm finding out in my sixth year in law enforcement, one phone call can set off a chain reaction that screws your whole day....

got a haircut. It was long overdue.

had a great ride with my wife on the fixed gear. My wife's a good bit slower than me but I've found having her on a road bike and me on my fixed gear makes us a lot more "even."
