Bikes: '09 Sputnik...

... figured I would play it safe and avoid traffic by riding the bike path to work as the weather was drizzly and foggy. On the safe bike path I wiped out hard when my front wheel came in contact with slime. Bike is ok, but after twelve hours, my knee, hip, and ribs are still hurting.

Someone had said its the Jokers colors, but I don't think of that reference... All I see is Donatello.

Hope you feel better soon, and definitely take photos of the bike!

Today I am dealing with the mind-f*ck that is bike racing.

[knock knock]
Who is it?
Doubt.
What do you want?
I'm just hear to leave this bag of excuses...ahem...reasons why you can't achieve what you want.
No, thank you....ok maybe I'll have just one.
[rubs hands menacingly]heh heh heh...

Put on some short shorts. You know you have the legs to win races, time to constantly remind you, and the rest of the world you're a racer.

Today, ironically I guess because it's Bike to Work Day, I did not ride to work for the first time in weeks. Painful to be on the El when the sun's out like it is today.

But hey, going to an awesome Chicago Craft Beer Week event (Half Acre/Three Floyd's/Dogfish Head, word!) down on the south side tonight. Gonna get missed kazzzzed, as the kids like to call it.

Today I bought/installed a new wheelset for my Mash. I also learned from the nice dude at my LBS that you can thread a cog on backwards (was having an issue with my chain hitting the spokes on new wheels).

get out there and ride dood ride. convincing yourself to get out in the rain is the hardest part, once your out there it's actually kind of fun. what's the worse that can happen, you get wet? or are you made of sugar?

Today I'm struggling to get through work. Nearly decided to go home for my lunch break and just chill. I've got a lot of riding/work to do today in order to get ready for CRANK MOB on saturday. Jesus christ I'm excited.

Also drunkenly trying to see who's drive train is the smoothest I knocked my rear wheel into a spinning crank and popped a spoke. Gotta get that fixed as well.

Unless you live in an alternate universe where everything is opposite, installing a cog backwards will bring the chainline closer to the spokes.
