got my drops and grips in today.

those ****ing grips are a ***** to put on...too lazy to get the heatgun outta the work van at the moment.

Scrodzilla 12-20-11 08:16 PM

Track grips? Use WD40.

CJWIZVRDGVNG 12-20-11 08:23 PM

I did use WD40 but once I reached the bend it kinda quit wanting to slide. The eighth inch track drops are pretty shallow so I may just use way more wd40.

if it was another color shirt, no one would have thought prison (except for the perverts)

also why so much gesso?

I just made a self portrait with a shirt I wear all the time. I could bring it down my glazing red over it or something, but I'm just going to move on.

There's a lot of gesso because I like to dry brush on textured surfaces. I work wet and glazes and put the high lights with dry brush to bring back the texture. I only started dry brushing this semester and it is the coolest

I spent most of today in the detail bay. Headed to south Seattle tomorrow for an auto auction. I rode my bike to lunch today and forgot my lock's key. Luckily the restaurant let me take it inside.

Put out another newspaper celebrating my 13th year working in the industry. Based on my assessment, that's 52 front pages a year for at least the last 7 years. Glad I get to race taxi cabs on the way home tonight, maybe I'll go ninja

When you're my age, you'll be happy you made the commitment.

No kidding! The Protein Molotov Colon Lab sounds like a fun one.

nuhtowel 12-20-11 10:32 PM

To clear things up, it was Principles of Immunology, Molecular Biology of the Gene, Intro Microbiology lab, Independent studies, rudiments of music (general education bull****), Protein and Molecular Cloning lab, and general biochemistry. Their abbreviations are pretty awful haha.

Way to go man. That's a pretty tough courseload.

What's your major if you don't mind me asking?

I graduated college about one year ago (BS- Chemistry).
I have to admit though, I got one of my two "C"s in Biochemistry .

I've always been more of an inorganic kind of guy.

Dannihilator 12-20-11 11:13 PM

Congrats.

Today I got over my road ride funk and had a good road ride.

Yesterday I had a cleanse of sorts. No booze for 24 hours. That was the first time that's happened in months. Today after work I was right back into the swing of things.

Also, I caught up on Top Chef and watched two former employers and two acquaintances of mine compete. My wife asked me how I worked for one of them for so long because she's such a *****. I found that hilarious.

xavier853 12-21-11 12:22 AM

Today, I worked in After Effects for most of the day and also watched The League, which is hilarious.

GMJ 12-21-11 12:57 AM

Today I am pretty sure I finished dialing in seatpost length, saddle position and angle to my stem/bars setup. Took it for a short spin and it felt perfect.

Nuhtowel, pre-med? I plan on switching from a finance to a philosophy major. I find it more interesting and I heard that undergraduates in philosophy score high on the LSAT, which is nice. Assuming I don't go that route, I would be ****ed because what the hell can you do with a philosophy degree?

The leading bit of grip can dry out before you get 'em all the way on, so in addition to a quick squirt in the grip I blast the bar with lube also. I typically use alcohol or window cleaner but the practice should work just as well with WD40.

If you come out of college/university and are able to write well and think critically you will be fine regardless of your degree.

I'm a Biochemistry and Molecular Biology major... Don't feel bad I got a couple C's in chemistry classes :innocent: this was my first semester I actually did well.

I'm all for studying something you are passionate about, but at the same time I think that your degree should be something marketable. I know a lot of people with degrees in the arts or communications that aren't doing much after school. Could you do a minor in philosophy? That would give you a solid backup plan incase you change your mind about law school.

I used to want to go to medical school, but the more I learned about science, the less thrilling being a doctor became. I don't really agree with how medicine is practiced and the bureaucracy in the field anyway. So, graduate school here I come!

Right, but the problem is that alot of degrees don't leave you entering the job market with any marketable skill.
Most sci/eng majors know how to operate many different instruments and apparatuses.

I agree that anyone who goes through the motions and actually graduates has a valuable mind and work ethic. It's just more or less difficult depending on what your degree was and where you are trying to work.
