Well today I'm back in the bay area to tie up some loose ends; I'll take the rainy weather the entire time I'm going to be here as a consolation.

Bikes: Surly CC

Rode 10 miles with my son (on roads), finished the complete breakdown of my M80 and am looking at a pile of parts that will magically come back together with a singulator, Mr. Whirly crankset and some other goodness to make a 1999 Raleigh M80 1x1 on Synrgy carbon-fiber spoked hubs. Should be sub 20 lbs.

Also swapped out the POS Jett that was on it with a friends Judy T2 Long travel so I can use my BB7 on the front. I cried a little when I saw a nice used set of Mavic ceramics on sale for $70 and realized I missed being able to buy them from the guy locally by less than 5 minutes.

Am taking a professor (and friend) of mine on a 15 mile ride tomorrow to show him how to get to the uni via bike. So that's 3 people I've converted from 100 percent car dependent into somewhat responsible bike commuters - this year.

I know. It was a really stupid mistake. I have 2 medium size patches of road rash: one on my elbow and one on my ***. My wheels need to be trued, I need new bar tape, and my right SRAM brifter is messed up too. The frame looks fine tho!

Put in a 30 mile road ride today. Made it to Lake Afton, about 10 miles out of town on the way back I got a MASSIVE leg cramp. The wife had to come pick me up.

Meanwhile, one of my riding buddies (who has to be mid-late 50's) put in a century. I R ASHAMED.

Today I was recognized from my L.A. Marathon Crash Race win at a local circuit race. I felt momentarily cool.

Today i finally got my cycling computer. Hooked it up, haven't been able to ride it yet. Looks like its working from hand pedaling in the stand.

We'll see when the weather clears up here. Its the sh*ts.

What kind of computer did you go with? Did you get your Kilo in yet?

Today I changed the chain on the gold Kilo.. Was going to put silver wheels on it, but realized the wheels are terribly out of true. Now I'm just doing this:

It was a Blackburn Delphi 4.0. Got it when Nashbar had massive ass sales. Got it for $20 plus shipping. Came to just under $30. Wireless, 2 bike modes, Cadence, as well as a HR monitor, but you have to buy an attachment. Feels like real good quality in the hand.

I haven't even ordered the Kilo yet. I still need to sell my conversion; It's actively on craigslist. It's not that I don't have the cash. It's that I don't have the space for a 3rd bike. MEH BUT ITS COOL FOR MY MOM AND GMA TO HAVE 3 CRUISERS THAT ARE NEVER RIDDEN. arg.

Also:

Amidoinitrite?

Today I came face to face with a chrome berlin pro series bag; pictures are deceiving; it's HUGE.
I thought it was just a pimped out hybrid between the citizen/ kremlin.

(Last night) did an alley cat. it was fun because you had to pick up objects at locations, or do something funny, and drop it off at another.

It was team based and unfortunately, my teammate was rather slow. Still a blast though!
