If you are active enough then all you might need is a change in diet and then you won't be thinking of frying up your fingers.

Problem with most people is not how much they eat but what they eat... too much sugar and refined foods will mess your body up and if you flip that food pyramid upside down you'd be amazed at the results.

Am 2 weeks in to living better here... have been able to increase my activity level and the intensity level and have been eliminating a most of the waste carbs from my diet which cause me the most issues.

I don't eat a lot of sugary or high-carb foods to begin with - no fast food, no soda, etc. - I just eat way too damn much. Angie is diabetic so we don't have a ton of junk food in the house (which helps). I'll be able to do it, it's just really tough right now because it's only day two.

When I was riding at a 10,000 mile a year pace and throwing steel around all day my caloric intake, just to maintain my whippet like shape and weight, was 4000 / day.

Well that's what they said about google at first and well let's just say that was the best decision ever for me. Still a gamble through.

dang. i might need that much after a big day on the bike but i would guess my avg demand to be in the mid to low 3000s somewhere.

i also might be smaller than you at 5'9" and 150lbs

The time in my life when I was trying to put in 1000 miles a week I used to eat a half-gallon of baskin robbin's peanut butter and chocolate every day. This was when I still weighed like 135.

It didn't last very long. The cross-country guys were doing 100 miles a week and the hpv club was getting ready for a non-stop ride from the northern California border to the Mexican border. I think we managed to keep it up for like 3 and half weeks, but really what the hell else are you going to do during the summer in high school but ride your bike?
