Today i got a flat on the way to work this morning, luckly enough i was able to catch the bus and was only 12 minutes late. Worked a double so i couldnt take the bus home and barely got a ride from a coworker but my bike wouldnt fit in her car so i took the rear wheel off and left the bike in the back of the kitchen. Tomorrow i get to go buy a tube since i dont have any and replace it and ride the bus to work on friday and put it back on...
ive gotten lazy about keeping a spare tube and now its definitly time to stop that...so im bikeless on my day off, atleast i have my long board.

today I did my first FGFS riding while watching bike polo. I don't think FGFS will ever be my thing, but I could really see myself getting into some polo
Today I worked, got reeeeeeallly ****ing frustrated, and then let loose with friends. I had many beers, 2 shots of Malort (neither of which I paid for), and sang karaoke. It was the best. When we showed up at our karaoke place, it was packed, but the bartender had reserved the best tables for us. Great night; I am no longer frustrated.
Oh, and before I left work I got an "in" on a consulting gig which would be pretty awesome. I love having friends in the tech world. I'm meeting with the founder of a startup tomorrow about possibly being her social media consultant.
I wish I had ridden my bike today. My only regret. *shrug*

Oh, I forgot that our karaoke DJ doused my phone in water and is horrified about it. But, it seems to be working fine and even if not, I have the new Apple Care which now covers water damage so it's all good. I will probably get all of my karaoke songs in before last call for some time now, since she feels so guilty.
On my ride home, actually in what I think is LessonLearned's neighborhood, someone threw a bunch of raw eggs at me. I'm beginning to lose my faith in humanity. I hadn't cut him off or run a red light or anything. I was in the bike lane, in one of the most heavily bike populated areas of the city, with my lights on. **** people, man. **** them all. Maybe this was karma for the mirror yesterday. I should've just gone to karaoke with Kaz.
man, jimmy you get screwed with like an unusual amount, makes me not want to go to Chicago..thought NY was bad

Chicago isn't that bad, I just spend a lot of time in the saddle in ****ty neighborhoods and I ride a lot when the only people out are drunk.
Scrod, I like to believe that all people are inherently good. Makes me not be so depressed. However, the past couple months have been making me start to think otherwise.

I believe the opposite. That way, the ones who are good reside on a much higher level.

When someone is genuinely kind to me (which happens on occasion), I notice and am grateful.

Today I noticed the river temp shot up to 65 degrees yesterday. Think I'm gonna have a swim today!!!!
Today, Scrod got mad about people posting craigslist links in inappropriate places.

Are those pedal straps hold fast? I was thinking of picking up a set, but was worried about durability, as I had problems with my previous set of straps.

It is like that here too. One of the only drawbacks of living directly on the coast.
Today I rode my bike to a hip coworking space in Logan Square, and sat in on 3 hours of meetings with a startup and their project team. Looks like I'm going to be doing their social media strategy which is exciting and terrifying because I've never consulted before. Gotta figure out how much to charge them and how I'm going to find the time to make this happen amidst my actual day job. (And OMG if I get this other job and have to handle new job + side gig at the same time.) Woo stress.
Now I'm still at the hip space borrowing a desk and working on the actual work stuff that currently gives me paychecks, but my brain is fried. Could use a break and probably should eat something before riding home...
