Well these are my stock wheels so I guess it was bound to happen sometime. I never had them serviced.
The good news is that they trued up the wheel too and now the bike seems to ride better? It wasn't way out of whack before but it must have been off. It was the rear wheel, fyi.

PS- The Bike Lane rules. Dropped it off with them and they had it back to me within the hour.

Mine was stock rear wheel too. And it was raining. Weird.

Today I:

Today, I have been riding my new townie FG all over town. I woke up early to meet my friend at the bikerowave. I helped him complete his touring before he has to set off for Europe. A nice morning working, wrenching is always pretty fun when there is no work pressure. Later, I dropped a pair of Campy shifters I owe my co-worker.

If only the weather were better! I need that arid desert climate.

Spoonrobot 07-13-12 06:07 PM

Today I applied for several dozen jobs. Gimme $$$.

Snuck into Comic Con today. That went well.

I also got some Adventure Time socks, Castle Crashers figure, original 1974 Alice in Wonderland posters, Mouse Guard signed print, a sweet t-shirt with batman riding a unicorn, and and Asylum poster with a ton of autographs from their actors and directors.

Gaming wise, I played some mario kart 7, some new transformers game, Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, Sly Cooper, and saw some of the new Assassins Creed.

To top it off, we saw 15 minutes of the new south park game. It's going to be pretty amazing, folks. I like it here.

Well then, you'll love battlebock theater. It's awesome. The Behemoth had Castle Crashers arcade machines too. It was fun.

rode my big block for the first time today, about 25 miles. initial thoughts: can't believe the big frames come with 165mm cranks, the cheap tires are very noticeable and will be my first 'new' upgrade, and the frame feels great. Very early in the game but started to see what the hype was all about with the way it felt and handled the road, even on some meh components.

my left foot comes unclipped way too easy on my time atac clips, don't know if its the shoe or the pedal, was not a good feeling

GENESTARWIND 07-14-12 03:19 AM

ive had that a few times, Trying to do a quick stop with a skid and POP out comes my left foot flying up lol

*Look! a wild forum lurker approaches! He uses first post! It's super effective!" :D

Today, I..... am the proud new owner of a blue, 2009 Bianchi Pista. Still new.

It was a floor model... so I got a killer deal on it. I can't wait until it gets here.

It'll be a good step up from my junky, frankenstein-esque conversion.

hope everyone enjoys the weekend!
Cheers!

I'm in love with the bike. I got a 58 because it has a normal sized top tube which is nice, replaced the 120 stem with a 110 stem and waiting to replace the seatpost. the frameset is awesome. There's nothing wrong with the stem and post either, I just wanted a 3T combo instead of FSA. I feel like it could be a race bike if you swapped the wheels on it, but for me, it has been perfect. First ride I ever did on it I went to Kemah and back, and despite being far from dialed in it took care of me

ThermionicScott 07-14-12 03:20 PM

Today I measured just under 1/16" of stretch on my chain at about 800 miles. Time to start taking better care of these things. :(

RGNY 07-14-12 05:05 PM

real, real hot today; as well as a recovery day, so just some minor wrenching in the garage.

swapped out the risers on the Leader 722ts for shallow drops.

now wondering: if i can make the hills to work on a 44:16 singelspeed, can i make it on a 46:16 fixed with more overall weight (about 3#) but less rolling resistantce?.......is a puzzlement..... . may have to make a test run tomorrow.....

Sherblock 07-14-12 08:14 PM

Met Ben Schwartz today - he was just wandering around the floor (of Comic Con). Nice guy.

Today I saw a dude with a big Lynyrd Skynyrd tattoo on his arm. Looked like fresh work, too.

Best ink ever!!!
