Bikes: 1987 Schwinn Super Sport, Surly Steamroller

Today I did the Onion AV Club crossword in 14 minutes (possibly my best time yet!) and then went for a 27 mile ride. I had Thai for dinner and it might be time for a pint of Ben & Jerry's now.

Today was a good day.

Today I sat inside all day because it stormed and rained like crazy. Then I went to Walgreens to purchase a whole $31 worth of candy.

I can't complain.

^ sounds amazing

today I faxed some papers to my bank to try and get my money back from a mechanic who tried to rob me (more than the $110 he got me for).

picked up an old city style peugeot for $25

got rid of some of the boxes that have taken over my apartment... though I have more on the way

had tree fort call me and tell me it'd be multiple weeks to get me my saddle. I asked if they'd give me a selle san marco regal or bars at the same price I was paying ($70) - no dice. then had the guy tell me he wouldn't charge me shipping on the individual item that was going out, well no ****, it's not my fault my order dropped under $125, just please don't act like you're doing me the favor. found multiple sites selling the two san marco saddles for $70, but ended up going back to the brooks from universal cycles, paid a tad more than I wanted for it, though got some $ off with a price match. also ordered a Vittoria randonneur and conti gatorskin

put a b43 on the front of my bike

agreed to sell my deep v set just a tad under what I paid.

asked ben at velo and chuck at bells to quote me a pw hub build.. and im not sure why

Bikes: Dolan Pre Cursa, Cannondale R400

Started watching the series OZ from the beginning since I've never seen the whole series.

Realized I have mice in my kitchen. I live below a hoarder so I'm pretty sure it's her fault (I hate my apartment).

Went to Home Depot to get mouse traps, started pouring for my ride home, and stopped as soon as I walked my bike into my building.

Washed/cleaned my car and saw a crack in the windshield. Car is due for inspection in two months.

Now I am about to write manager reviews that I was supposed to have done a week ago.

I did not have a good day today...

Tonight was my first time doing races at the track. Did a 400m time trial to sort new riders, which put me in a the middle of three groups of four to five people.

First race: Tempo. Won the first lap, stayed behind on the second, won third, second on fourth, then won the last two. Our group then got split since one guy and myself were pretty far ahead, so we then had one faster group and a slower one.

Second race: Scratch. Got fourth, but was probably about 4 bike lengths behind the first three guys.

Third race: Don't know what to call it, but there was a sprint every three laps to make 3 total sprints. Basically, I was behind the first one, tried to make it up for the second one, then was too tired to hang on and fell way behind. Didn't come in last, but I got no points.

It's called the Points Race. It's one of the most popular, technical, and difficult races in track. It requires speed, endurance, on-the-bike recovery, and cunning. It's like a guitar, easy to learn...tough to master.

Changed out my 35mm tire, added s couple chain links, installed 19t cog and 48t ring, cleaned and lubed the chain, all while naked. My girlfriend just stared at me in horror

Nice, at least you were careful with some protruding exterior organs from the drive train.
