Today I did a nice little 17 mile ride, tailed a roadie who passed me on the bike path for a couple miles, and only had to flip off one obnoxious driver on the way home. Then I met up with Nagrom's girlfriend.

RGNY 10-05-12 05:04 PM

^ well, that escalated quickly. :)

my three day weekend just got hosed. Saturday i have to officiate a funeral and Sunday i'm told we have to visit cousins out of town. bah! want to ride and wrench.

today i went into a levis store (for about the 5th time) to see the commuter stuff in person, and they didnt have any of it (for about the 5th time)

had a huge list of things to get and instead i came home with 3 shirts and had a kickass meal at cheesecake factory

Sixty Fiver 10-05-12 10:45 PM

Second day back and I shopped for food and made food, bought alcohol and will be enjoying some of that shortly, and bought some new knives.

Try Urban Outfitters. They have them.

Tonight I introduced ny wife to Tommy Wiseau's masterpiece, "The Room". Best terrible movie ever.

Scrodzilla 10-05-12 11:11 PM

**** Urban Outfitters.

FakeFuji 10-05-12 11:16 PM

yea I would rather not wear pants than support chain stores like that.
I got bright red jeans today at marshalls for 11 dollars lol, sqrl says they are stupid.
I agree but for 11 dollars I couldn't really be picky

I'm glad you're loving it; now get used to using it and experiment with lenses! P.S. you can also use legacy lenses as well.

It also helps to read up on care & maintenance & technique.

Hey, I have this exact same frame, just smaller.haha Its my snow bike. I do not get the placement of the rear brakes though still except to route all cables on the downtube.

U-brakes under stays were damn near ubiquitous in the late 80s. I figure it was so yer heels didn't clip cantis on most "normal" frame sizes. I was always tagging the non-lo-pro cantis on my 1988 Mongoose.

LesterOfPuppets 10-06-12 10:46 AM

Today I wore my bike-matching gloves. 38 degrees for the 8am rollout.

I had to dig out the winter gear for my commute this morning. The ****tiest part is that I couldn't find my damned winter hat. Lame.

Nagrom_ 10-06-12 11:01 AM

Tell me about it. 70° here today, gotta get my gloves.

Mumonkan 10-06-12 11:26 AM

RGNY 10-06-12 12:45 PM

rode in the pouring rain to help officiate a funeral. lots of really rich white folks and a bagpiper. family was very appreciative. bonded w/ the 'regimentally' kilted bagpiper about people needing to HTFU regarding the weather.

as i was locking up my giant gothic stone edifice, someone asks me "how do you ride in the rain and the snow and all that?".

i told them "just keep pedaling". :)

Scrodzilla 10-06-12 01:19 PM

It's hot and sunny here today. I'm going swimming in the ocean after work.
