Are these builds from the ground up or do they come semi-assembled like BD bikes?

Today I get to order my road bike. Been researching/waiting/saving for almost two months now, beyond stoked.
Today a friend showed me this website. http://cat.www.retro-gression.com.meowbify.com/ |
That seriously made my day.
|
Today I learned that an awesome lady in town for CMWC who's staying with my friend got her messenger bag with all her cash, laptop, and passport stolen from a bar last night. :( :( :(

Yeah, and she's Canadian so has to deal with the consulate to get a temporary passport so she can get home in a couple days.
Today (or tomorrow), I'm buying parts to build the schwinn up for the gf. |
Today was the first day in almost two weeks I had a chance to ride, so I did 52 miles. Sanity levels stabilized once more.
Also The other day while driving home from work I saw a guy have a zero MPH bike crash. looked like he was new to clipless. http://files.sharenator.com/i_know_t...339759-580.jpg |

Today I had an informal interview at Thomas Jefferson University with the higher ups for the graduate program, and I totally impressed them with my sciencing skills. They totally want me to go there... #win

today i put in 64 miles, my longest ride so far, went to piermont & back, really not as intense as i was expecting. next time more food and water though, couldve gone farther
before i got over the GWB i got doored by some woman getting out of a taxi, luckily i was only going about 7 mph and i fell between two parked cars so even though my biggest fear was realized, wasnt the worst thing in the world http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=265089 gonna have a nice bruise though. the line on my collarbone is where i hit the doorframe, thats the only spot that hurts. thankfully nothing broken or dead. i also saw a guy that looked exactly like sheldon brown on the west side greenway, it was awesome i may have hit 48.5 mph today (strava) on a long descending hill. im sure i exceeded 40, was kinda scary |

It used to take the old guy 1 1/2 hours? Woof.
You Performance guys must get paid hourly. |
Had my first bike-to-bike crash. Some lady on the bike path wasn't looking where she was going and veered left (into me). I yelled, then we crashed, then I yelled some more. No one got hurt, luckily. I got a flat, she got a taco. *win*
|
jeez what is this accident day? glad noone got hurt there, and you were able to ride away
|
Is it a full moon?
|
actually, it is. hah
|
Today I got in a good street session. I think it was a mix between trying a different set of tires and being a bit rusty that made me feel down on it.

You Performance guys must get paid hourly. Also, Today I: got my kool stop tire jack. Dude. Scrod. Thank you. That thing is ****ing awesome. Also found out the 810 doesn't have enough links for my road bike. I mean, who reads product descriptions anyway?! Le derp on my part. Oh well |

Damn, dude...if I knew it was for your road bike I would have talked you out of it. I'm 99% certain the 810 is still too wide for use with a derailleur.

I spent like 3 weeks debating if I was gonna go pedals/clips/straps or clipless. I ended up going clipless and today i went riding with the new clipless setup. let's just say I'm never going back.
|
that's why everyone needs two bikes at least! I wouldn't do a long ride again without clipless, but if I want to hit up the store or a bar I really don't want to put on my specific shoes or swap pedals
