put the Cinelli Zebra tape (red/white, looks like bacon) on the Nature Boy. right over the thin stock tape as i've got delicate paws from multiple hand injuries. fun and cushy. may be compelled to spritz with the bacon scented car spray from the auto parts store.

baguette/brie/prosciutto with a malbec for dinner.

doing a charity bike tour of local ethnic restaurants next weekend. entry price is canned goods (as well as any cash) going to local shelter. i was asked to be a "shepherd" and help make sure people don't get lost, help with mechanical failures, etc.. had about 50 people show up for the last one.

Today I dealt with a roadie who *****ed that a wheel was 2g over advertised weight (literally), two customers that asked for me yesterday and when I wasn't there they decided to come back today, and the most awesome rich guy that appreciates bike stuff ever. Also, My wife's severance came in, so she let me buy stuff. I got Shimano M520's and SIDI Sierras for a grand total of $50 after tax. Good times. New headlight when I get paid (tomorrow), and then road bike. I can snag a Fuji Roubaix 2.0 for like $600, which is in my price range, so I'm gonna do it.

dood if u work at performance u should wait for a deal on an sst. those things are sick

maybe u can get a deal on a return or factory second or something??? in college when i worked at a bike shop that dealt specialized you could do the same thing. employees could access a special list of specialized rigs with like minor defects that they couldnt sell at msrp for like mad cheap.

i have a teammate this year who owns a fuji sst. the dude is a beast, like ~190lb slab of muscle. he cracked two (2) blue AC1SL frames that he got free from our sponsorship deal at the chainstay/bb area. he's also cracked a trek madone that he owned in the past. hasn't cracked his SST and hes had it for 3 years.

Rode Downtown into Boston for free breakfast burritos, courtesy of Bike Fridays. The one downside was having to wake up before 9am...

See if you can get a 2011 model, they're only like $1100 with the discount.

RGNY 08-31-12 01:50 PM

full body 1/8" shave. wife says i'm doing her legs from now on.....

flogged the Nature Boy to/from work in record time. getting the 722 out for an all-fixed long weekend relaxation marathon. biking and simmering chicken stock / tomato sauce will be the orders of the day.

"blue moon" is tonight: out for beers with friends later, tasting their new batch of absinthe and keeping an eye out for reven'oors.

Yeah I know. Problem is that I can't find one in my size, I'm doing two centuries at the end of the month, and my budget is $600. Besides, I don't wanna drop that much on a road bike, cuz I don't know if I'll even like gears.

Street rider 08-31-12 02:23 PM

Since I've been done with class for a little over 2 hrs, and everyone is going home for the weekend, its biek tyme. A nice long weekend and almost empty streets to put the miles on.

cool. i'm with a medieval group that does brewing. we've got about 100gal beer and 50gal mead going right now. i'll be getting pressganged for racking/bottling any week now.

although, i'm not the biggest mead fan. only if it's sparkling. probably because the first one i ever tried was done with a champagne yeast....

jimmytango 08-31-12 05:08 PM

I may be putting the Roubaix on hold. A coworker is selling a 1983 Basso in my size with a mix of Campy Record and Ultegra 6600/6700 and a Mavic wheelset. Oh man it's nice.

Yesterday I de-wussified the Diamondback Interval by pulling the 48/38/28 and putting on a 52/42.

Today I slightly re-wussified it with a 52/39.

Will go hit all four nearby categorie 4 stravas today for testing.

Still really need to dig up a reasonable stem for her.
