What time? I was there from about 12:30-2:30. Ate some food, scoped everything out, bought a few goods and bounced. I think I would have noticed our SSFG friendly giant.

Rode 80 miles, my longest day in the saddle yet. Not sore, but tired as ****. Bed before midnight on a saturday never felt so good.

Today I feel the first wave of a sinus infection. Turrible.

What the...??? I can't for the life of me picture who was across from the swrve stuff. I thought it was the DJ booth or the frame builder with the bike repair stand. You remember seeing an asian guy in green shorts and grey long sleeve top walking around a lot? That was me.

depending on the duration and intensity of a ride, it's weird how some rides can leave you sore as hell but not tired, and other rides can leave you exhausted but not sore. |
Yesterday was a long day. Had to start band stuff at 8:30, so breakfast at 6:30. Threw up outside the restaurant I was so hungover. Long day of hungover rehearsal followed, and then a long game. At least we won. After the game was over, got to hang with my dad for a bit. Celebrated the birthday with a good dinner and my first legal beer in a bar/restaurant, then got birthday goodies. Adjustable bottle cage/bottle for the bike, pair of sunglasses with two extra pairs of lenses, a half dozen stogies, a magazine biography on Clint Eastwood, card with some cash from my mom, and candy. My dad also bought me a case of beer because I was going to get myself some and he said he would pick it up. Started kinda ****ty, and got good in a hurry.

then packed and repacked my 2 bug out bags and took stock of what i have to eat in the house later more food at gfs house for her birthday dinner: mozzarella & tomato salad with homeade french onion soup & lampchops fattening up before the storm im oddly excited to ride my bike around the island and check out the damage if there is any after this is all said and done with |
I overhauled my new (used) MKS Lambda pedals. There has to be a better solution to these dust caps, like some threads.

rode around town before and after church. didn't even rain. looking at the prediction, we appear to just north/outside the "Sandy Death Zone". worst forecast is for rain and 25mph winds. still not driving to work.
discovered the secret message inside the center rear pocket on my All City jersey. bought a new front fender after a stick came up between the fender and the tire and spun so fast it burned through the plastic partway before i could stop. three weeks later it stress cracked all the way through. weirdness. |
saw this little write up, pretty cool stuff http://www.the5thfloor.co.uk/2012/10/28/ride-for-life/

i think its just primarily a physiological thing.
if ur ride is short and intense (think tarck, crit, cx racing) ur gonna dump tons of lactic acid into ur legs, but possibly not use all of your aerobic capacity. alternatively ive gone on many 3-4hr solo rides where i just try to keep a steady clip that leave me real tired, but not exactly sore. im sure nutrition plays a big role in post ride soreness but idk much about that |
Today I got in a great street ride before sandy hits, was perfect, no traffic, no people.

Hope all you guys on the east coast stay safe. I know my family is hunkered down waiting for power to go out.

Today I went bowtie shopping and bought red jeans instead. I also somehow ended up with a bottle of Hendrick's.
|
That's not a bad thing.
