Last night was my marching band banquet. Started drinking at 4:30, was drunk all through dinner, and then ended up at the bar at like 1 for a friends birthday. So much alcohol was consumed.

I commute on a ****ty $120 fixed gear like that (not from Target, got it online)... 46x16, pushing 30lbs, and most of the bolts are already rusting after only 2 months, but it's fun as hell. All I changed, was adding a beat up looking but nice Ritchey stem and some Bontrager drops I snagged for free off CL, and added some PDW Origami fenders.

The best part, I can leave it parked in front of the store or bar or whatever in SF for several hours, without having a heart attack like I would with my other bikes.

It's super dumb proof. I was like.... really? that's it?

Today, and the passed 3 days, I've had some sort of stomach bug, and can't keep anything down. Worst I've felt in forever.

first true snow ride to work. partly frozen slush on the road and 3" snow on the trail portion. Conti Winter Contacts performed well even with the counter-intuitive tread pattern.

looking at studded Nokian IceSpeed tires for the intense freeze days.

I saw stung by a bee on my thigh while riding to work. I built a Brompton wheel for my boss. Ex-pro racer lady came in to rent a bike

I had a few bucks on an amazon giftcard so I bought a grey pake top tube protector to cover up the cable guides. well the product description didnt say "looks exactly like duct tape", and I got it today in the mail. looks like a toilet paper roll covered in duct tape. operation sw8 fixay is put on hold :(

calv 11-26-12 04:33 PM

You bought something even though you didn't know what it looked like?

said it was slate grey or something and it looks different than the pic. of course I looked at it

calv 11-26-12 06:25 PM

I'd return it.

cali_axela 11-26-12 06:34 PM

Yup, returning stuff from Amazon is really easy. If it doesn't look like the pic, that's a fine reason to.

LesterOfPuppets 11-26-12 06:37 PM

Today I have been reeking of PB Blaster since about noon.

SS_Giant 11-26-12 06:51 PM

I might just hold on to it, the duct tape tweaker look might come in style here soon and i'll be ahead of all yall

cali_axela 11-26-12 07:25 PM

Unless it cost less than a spent roll of toilet paper and a foot of duct tape, you should still return it :p

SS_Giant 11-26-12 08:02 PM

ha come to think of it its more wrapping paper tube sized, so its def going in the keeper pile. wrapping paper is like 6.99 at walmart, its a recession?

Dannihilator 11-26-12 08:11 PM

Today I got in a decent 30 miles and am ready for the crud fest tomorrow.

Today I put my liberated risers on my bike. Just have to go and get myself some grips here tomorrow. Kind of excited to finally try a pair of risers.

Nagrom_ 11-26-12 08:42 PM

I sold a pair of risers today. $20, woot.

Yours were probably nice-ish though. These things weigh like 8 lbs. Woof.

Never really been much of a fan. I have some risers as well but they just collect dust.

But that is because I want to feel like a track star when i am rolling through campus.

calv 11-26-12 09:03 PM

Today, I am debating if I should put on my Nitto Noodles instead of the FSA Wing Pro's (with hoods) on my Kagero if I can find a brake lever that fits on the middle part of the bar.

hairnet 11-26-12 09:23 PM

It'll probably look better with the Wing Pros

+them hoods

Today I'm pretty happy that I did not spend much for cyber monday; my only order was <$20 @ scroddikins.
