Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? Today I came home to a huge scratch across my TET's top tube through the powdercoat. Cool, guys. Thanks for ruining my 3 month old powdercoat that I bought solely to protect my raw steel frame.

my powder coat is all messed up too from other peoples bikes on racks, this is why we can't have nice things, or at least lock up nice things on bike racks

Today I looked at a most excellent office/warehouse space for Retrogression. More room than we even know what to do with.

Looks like we're moving again........

Today I am prepping my bike and packing for the Ye Olde Century (as I've dubbed it - riding 50mi each way to/from the Ren Faire). Just cleaned and lubed the chain, adjusted the front derailleur, and pumped up the tires.

Pumped up the tires on my fixed gear while I was at it, and they were down to 30psi. Lulz.

P.S. It sounds so funny to say I have a fixed gear! Yay, flip flop hub. And BFSSFG for giving me the courage to try it.

I've put over 100 miles on my rb002's and they are great. Good hand positions and the reach isn't all that long.

On another note: today I painted the rear machined sidewall on a wheelset I got on the cheap. It came out great but only time will tell how well it will hold up...

Yea man. My clearcoat doesn't even chip off like it does on production bikes. It's kinda like a layer of super glue and scratches off. Touched up with clear nail polish, hope I don't get too much H2O seepage... but the FTP is going to be the rainy day bike anyways luls.

I've found that a light coat of grease on the threads helps me get them tight so they'll stay put.

I'll try that. I'm thinking after messing with these a few times that I should just grab some steel chainring bolts for it anyway, these things feel like total pieces of ****.

plus it'll give me a good excuse to get an all black, odd count, chainring. I heard someone recently got rid of their 47t...

Got hit by a car :/
But only a few cuts and scrapes, but the car got dented, so hopefully all turns out well. gonna stick to the bike paths for a few weeks.
