I find myself all alone in a desolate roadway completely devoid of all humans with a flat rear waiting for my patch to vulcanize. If I shall not live to post again MAY THE GODS AVENGE MY DEATH WITH THE WRATHS OF A BAJILLION PUS FILLED SADDLE SOARS FOR THE RIDERS OF NEXT YEAR'S TOUR DE FRANCE.
You'll thank me when team cars are racing around with jars of ointment.

Tonight was racing at the track. Borrowed my girlfriend's old bike since it fits me better than mine, but in the first tempo race noticed that the front wheel was untrue and I felt terribly unsafe at highspeed so I pulled off and changed wheels.
6 lap scratch race: At lap two I found myself 20 ft ahead of second place, so I said to myself "**** it, just go!". I think I got about 100m ahead then hit the wall of death =[ . Finished fourth of six, so at least I didn't die too badly. Live and learn.
Then i missed the points race since I was too busy upchucking smoothie and powerade ;]
On the bright side, I got upgraded to race Cat 4 now.

Today I biked in the rain, with my steel frame.
I had to, it rained out of no where and only way to get home.

Yesterday I and 7 friends ate a whole hog dinner at this place, and it was free (except for drinks and tip) thanks to my friend winning a contest on their Facebook page.
Then I got home and checked Twitter to find out another friend's wheelset got jacked. She was so upset. Earlier this year, she had worked some deal with stanridge speed to get a custom frame; version 1 arrived and turns out, it did not fit. So she waited another month+ to get version 2 which she just got built up Wednesday night. Version 2 fits great and she is in love with it. Less than 24hrs later, she stopped to buy coffee beans at a coffee shop, and only locked the frame. Came out 5 minutes later and both wheels, gone. Luckily it was a fairly inexpensive wheelset and she's dating a bike messenger and good friends with a guy that works in a shop, so she already has it back up and running on loaner wheels. Still, I feel really bad for her. I'm also glad I don't live in her neighborhood - in the last few months, I have one friend who got his entire bike stolen, two others that got their back wheels stolen, and this friend that got both wheels jacked. All in the same (rapidly gentrifying, hipstery) neighborhood.

1. rain don't kill steel, being left outdoors 24/7 and salt and other dirt with that rain do. riding home in the rain is fine if you clean your bike semi-regularly.
2. facebook is the devil
3. hipsters should lock their wheels

You can't put it in your apartment? You could also try and get a storage pod but you're running out of time...
