@calv I clearly needed an aluminum frame as well.
This July heat has me making questionable decisions.

Today I went to fuddruckers with my wife and my brother in law for lunch; he challenged me to eat the 1 pound burger. I was massacred in the matter of minutes. I did not finish and let my wife finish it because she ordered something from the kids menu. Manlyness -10.
Also I realized I had scrod send my rb - 002's to the dept office at work on Saturday. Poo.

Wrenched on my Le Tour conversion - cranks and lockring were loose. The ride home from the bike coop was a million times better than the ride there.

Yeah, my brother just bought a FG and I've been helping him along. I gave him a Nashbar Arione knockoff I wasn't using, my pedals/clips/straps setup, helped him get fit more accurately, etc. He seems to love it and love riding it, which is awesome.

Today my gf and I picked up our Mercier Kilo TT's from our LBS, who had been assembling them over the past week while we've been out of town.
Other than needing to do a few small adjustments after the fact, and the fact that the store sold my gf the wrong sized freewheel, then tried to sell her a new chain instead of swapping out for a proper sized freewheel, we're pretty excited about the new bikes.
I also tested out my work commute, which ends up being about 4.5 miles and 25 minutes each way. Will definitely look into commuting every day.
Oh, and I also got a flat (pinch, I think) on the way back from my ride, literally 50 yards from my apartment.

Today...
I cleaned up everything on my bike for an evening ride. But it started to pour rain and I didn't get to ride. At least my bike is all clean now though

Today I:
1. Rode the Scrambler 32 miles on the rollers with the resistance unit on high. Slowed down towards the end because I was getting tired, did the same thing yesterday for 40 miles @ ~19mph average plus sprints. Stayed indoors because of the heat and storms, saw a great lightning show.
2. Sold my motorcycle, racing leathers, and some bike parts. Should have sold it last year instead of letting it sit. Now if only the buyer will come through with payment and pickup.
3. Did some cleaning on my neglected Schwinn High Sierra. It makes me sad to think I don't ride it enough.

I'm the opposite.. I just started running a few weeks ago and it's already easy for me. Cardio-wise I feel like I could go forever, but my calves and ankles start screaming at four miles or so. I would try to train for a triathlon if I could do more than a lap at a time in a swimming pool. -_-

Today I pounded out about 13 miles in the heat and humidity in about 40 minutes, saw the girl for a bit, and cleaned/tightened everything down on the bike.

I wouldn't say running is fun in the same way as cycling but runners high takes you to a different place and any need for any stimulation just disappears.

I think most people can train fairly easily to be good runners, especially if it is just for a 3 mile run. I have **** knees and running was tough to get used to but I became pretty good at pacing myself for a couple hours. Running just takes a long time to build a base and some say you should do it for almost a year before taking to a competitive level. There's running "right" and running "wrong" and it may take some people that time to really get how to run "right" and not hurt themselves

i freakin love running. get a friend, jog a while, and slowly build up your mileage. within a few months youll be able to do 30/40+ mile weeks (with a rest day).
