Worst thing is, this is my first winter in Canada, and it stay "winter" until the beginning of April. |
That very very strange moment when the tracking updates on a package scrod sent you, when you assumed it was just some fake shipping info.
I think he sent me a box of bugs. |
im so excited for you!

but its just not fun. i wanna be dripping with sweat in the warm sunshine hammering out some miles getting a tan this whole "everything is dead and nothing fun (i.e. snow) is happening" is getting old, so called "winter" in nyc is boring now 20 years ago i was making igloos and ice caves in front of my house cuz we had 5 feet of snow, this just makes me sad |

"Hey, I want to buy my [kid/partner/wino down the road] a bike for Christmas!"
"Great, we sell bikes! What kind?" "Uh... I don't know." "What size?" "They come in different sizes...?" (deep breath) "OK, so how tall are they, how do you think they'll use a bike, where will they ride, and what colors do they like?" Yes, I know, the correct answer should always be "Kilo TT"... Moved some bikes today, but the level of aggravation was high. Plus two of our highest maintenance customers stopped by. |

today I found out that the PK "big" ripper exists and that I want one. I would wheelie that thing into paradise
|
Dudes, seriously. That was my day.
Also, Big Rippers and Quadrangle 29" are amazing. I am a supporter of SE bikes. |
This hasn't been posted in a while

Yep freestyle fixed gear with the fragility of plastic fork left out in the desert sun for a few months.
|
Ive seen the pic before, but Im not talking about that one. from the looks thats the pk ripper fixie, I'm talking about the pk big ripper 29er. it is built more like a bmx bike, and Im sure the guy who snapped that bike deserved it. i just want something to wheelie on and feel like I did back when I was a kid chasing after the ice cream truck on my old diamondback, not to try to jump stairs or that nonsense

http://i.minus.com/jR9wWozueocRR.jpg Bought my girlfriend a Chrome Orlov rolltop bag (right) for Christmas, gave it to her early. After having her rusty beach cruiser stolen awhile back, she got herself a Leader 722TS and has been loving it. I figured a nice Chrome bag would suit her well, as she's been using an old beat up Jansport backpack for the past year.

Counting today, three more shopping/idiots-on-the-loose days 'til Xmas. ...then expect me to post in a couple weeks how dead and boring it is in the bike shop... |
Today, I get to smooth the new welds on the dropouts or more correctly forkends now and start prepping the frame for paint. I picked it up yesterday from the machine shop and the new fork ends look great! I can breathe a sigh of relief that it turned out and can now order wheels and BB from Scrod. Project Fixie is a GO!

Last night I got home from work a little after 1am, sat down with a beer, and finally watched Premium Rush. It was actually better than I thought it was going to be. One more night of work and then I have an entire week off.
|
sitting in the airport about to go back home for a few days. I have my kilo waiting in the garage and denver is supposed to be somewhere in the mid-30s tomorrow so hopefully I can get a few miles in. this last week has sucked

10mi ride along the canal trail. 28F and 3"-6" of snow w/ some ice. got dark soon after i left and once i was on the trail i decided to "go dark" and rode by moonlight on snow. had the whole thing to myself. awesome.
now full of hot soup and cellar temp beer, trying to pick out a bad 70's movie to watch with my sweety. |
