I'm not sure what that means (don't know much about cars). For the MS3, power kicks in kind of late but I think it handles nicely.

I ruled out the WRX based on initial price and insurance cost (so ridic). I just don't think AWD is worth the extra $4k up front (based on the new quote I got for the MS3 today) plus 5x the monthly insurance cost.

I might try out a GTI and a FRS just to compare, but I doubt I'll go with either cuz 2 doors.

Cars man why lol.

i have a 2000 focus and to be honest, it looks all racey or whatever, but my 01 saturn had a more fun engine and suspension than this thing. its so vanilla and i hate it.
5x insurance cost on wrx would be the killer for me, not even the up front cost. that blows.

cant wait for wrangler time.

i think ford did a nice job on the focus st

it's fun and it moves quick

but it is still a ford

i love america and all but

our last ford was just so bad...

Amazingly. They're seriously the best jeans ever. They make a black dressy slack version too, and I'm considering getting a pair of them, and some more of the jeans.

in retrospect every ford ive ever known, be it my familys, extended familys, friends etc. has always been trouble.

focus has a popular problem with the thermostat housing having the seal failing, which mine did.

lot of fords have problems with the valve cover gasket failing and leaking oil, which mine did.

granted its 12 years old but the valve cover gasket has been a problem on 85% of the fords ive known

yummygooey 01-24-13 09:10 PM

everyone should just (re)learn how to make cars like my '88 toyota pickup

(including toyota)

except add power steering this time

Ann.Occupanther 01-24-13 09:49 PM

Agreed. '86 Nissan pickup here.

Nagrom_ 01-24-13 10:00 PM

89 Honda Accord that refuses to stop running.

Rowed a 2:56.9 1000 meter on the C2 rower (PR)

yummygooey 01-24-13 10:26 PM

That's pretty fast. Are you a rower?

(I rowed for a year in college)

Never on the water, just indoor. The only on the water experience I have is outrigger canoeing. I'm just fairly tall, heavy (6'2"@245) and have a decent lactate threshold for the shorter events. Fortunately for me, being large isn't as much of a issue as it is in cycling.

seau grateau 01-24-13 11:20 PM

Put track drops on for cool points. Went for a ride. Took track drops back off.

hockeyteeth 01-24-13 11:26 PM

Looks like I'm doing homework all weekend! Yeah...

I don't think I ever got below 7:30 for a 2k

But I was 5'8"@145 when I rowed. Pretty tiny by comparison.

You should get on the water! There's really nothing like the feeling of gliding across a smooth lake.

Awesome. I remember wanting a pair back when they first introduced the line, but they hadn't really been out long enough to get reviews from any 'serious' cyclists. The only ones I ever seen were from hipster-types, or from some guy who was complaining that he couldn't wear them because his thighs were too big.

But now I might have to drop the money on them as soon as tax time/road bike purchase is past.

I mean, compared to half of the kids here on this campus/the internet who consider 5 miles to be a 'big ride'. Hell, the cycling club I'm in, we found out about another club thats here. When we went to meet them, it was five kids who were all riding fixed, with chrome bags and Cadence bar tape. We asked if they were cool with going on bigger rides with us to have some group friendliness, and one guy said, "yea man, I did 20 miles like a week ago, so we definitely should!".

Damn. Ok. I guess in that light, I'm supa-seeryus! Next time you're in Chicago or I'm in GR, let's ride.

Much of the same here.
My errands just doubled. Seeing that I have stayed car free for so long, I plan to messenger an assignment of my sqrls downtown via bike in the bad weather. I actually look forward to that part. :)

Yea dude! Although, I'm only in GR like 4 months out of the year because of school. But summer is when I'm home, so its the best time to ride. And I couldn't even tell you the last time I was in Chicago haha.

And today I am super excited, because I'm going to see Flogging Molly play in Detroit. Been waiting like 7 years for this. I iz soopa excite.
