today i started looking at xpedo mforce pedals since they where the ones i had before, is it just me or has the price on these jumped? i picked mine up at a shop no cleats or box for 30 and i had seem them online for like 45-50 around a year ago. Now im seeing prices at 70....even for the chromoly bodied ones i owned.

Hah, nah. Pretty light build with only minor weight weenie-ism.

What put it under was a tuned masterpiece.

striknein 02-01-13 02:35 PM

LOL'ing so hard on Facebook today. Also, my wife and I ate beets with dinner last night, which is providing HOURS of entertainment.

Crazyed..27 02-01-13 03:19 PM

Today I made 131 bucks in 3 hours riding my bike in single digit temps!

SS_Giant 02-01-13 05:31 PM

finally got my hands on my newest project, a mid 80s 69cm lotus. decals are kinda chipped but I believe its a 1980-82 classique, its the real deal. should be a fun #summer2k13 bike build. pics come later

dont know if I want to put some gears on it or turn it into a massive fixed conversion...

Mumonkan 02-01-13 06:52 PM

Don't do it. Big frames are flexy as hell and really arent great as fixed gears. I went through two of them

and post pics!

maybe do it for a short time as you collect geared parts

Today I ventured off my usual route and turned it into a 20mi fun loop around north LA and Burbank. Long traffic lights be killin' my Strava times though.

jimmytango 02-01-13 08:32 PM

My insulated water bottle froze on my ride today. Too cold. Now I'm headed home from my friend's party. It quickly turned into one of the most awkward experiences of my life. I need whisky, stat.

Dannihilator 02-01-13 08:38 PM

Today I had a good session on the dmr.

hopefully this works if not I give up on linking pics.

@hairnet yeah I hear ya, I remember you talking about the flex on your fuji. Its going to need a new wheelset and I'll probably just throw that garbage one that came with my kilo, run it fixed till I get some $$. or maybe just get some porteur bars and turn it into a cruiser townie
also that MF'er dennis put my full name down on FGG, which blows my mind because I distinctly didnt put it down on my email...

edit: I DID IT!! PHOTO UPLOAD ACHIEVEMENT UNLOCKED

Dannihilator 02-01-13 10:20 PM

Today I got my vacation plans locked in for July, stoked.

LesterOfPuppets 02-01-13 10:26 PM

That rear triangle is crZy

striknein 02-01-13 10:27 PM

Built my first ever rear wheel, and I did a damn good job. Can't wait to get the rest of the bike together!

Although now, I'm starting to miss having access to a professional trying stand. Mine is not nearly as precise as I want.

LesterOfPuppets 02-01-13 10:43 PM

Today I rode in the sun.

So, Lester, what is it like to ride in the sunshine? I've forgotten...

Mumonkan 02-01-13 11:51 PM

today i got 2 pairs of smartwool medium thick hiking socks and a pair of ultralight socks, a leatherman squirt ps4 and a victorinox cadet with alox scales for $2.21

then i had a kickass family dinner at the gfs house:

manicotti, chicken parmesan, riceballs, broccoli/cauliflower casserole, hot chocolate marshmallow cupcakes and blueberry pie

was a good day.

Street rider 02-02-13 01:43 AM

Just got home from the bar and then the club. Wings won, had fun with friends, danced with a few girls. Successful Friday night.

After a couple weeks of nasty weather it was like being in an alternate universe. No hat no gloves no jacket. All the roadies were waving. A lovely lady even texted me midride to let me know she had a meatball sub for me when I got back.

yummygooey 02-02-13 01:17 PM

today i realized being an adult is difficult. oops.

Jaytron 02-02-13 01:36 PM

Today I planned to not ride my bike.

Then I rode my bike... oops.

EDIT: Also getting dressed to go out... Picked out a shirt that didn't fet me 2 months ago. Now it's slightly loose. Feelsgoodman.jpg

Spoonrobot 02-02-13 02:56 PM

Nice.

I've been rotating through 4-5 pairs of pants for the last two weeks because I know if I wash them it's going to be way obvious that I've been eating too much cake and cookies at work. Office job = get as fat as possible as fast as possible. :(

Today I rode a metric for the challenge, now I'm laying around watching Hulu and later I'm going to take a nap. :thumb:

Nagrom_ 02-02-13 03:45 PM

Today I almost wiped out real hard on the CAAD. I was doing some climbing and was on a fast descent, I don't have a comp on the caad yet but it was faster than 35 cause I was the testing the high speed handling. I was coming around a corner and went right into what looked like a truck's lost load. Gravel, heavy chains, and about 6 4 foot long 4x4's.

Smacked a 4x4 with my back wheel after I bunny hopped the front over, I then proceeded to start to go down, but got a foot out and down. Kept me up, but ate a cleat in the process.

Came to a stop fairly quick because my back wheel was pinned against my caliper. Had to release it to roll down, cause I wasn't attempting any repair on that blind corner.

Back wheel wasn't dented, but I did lose pretty much all of the tension on the drive side. Got to a straight patch of road where I could repair it safely, and then got it as true as possible in a respectable amount of time, enough to get me home. The tension was all whack so with any kind of force it rubbed my brake pads so I left the caliper open.

Glad my new multi tool had spoke wrenches lol, and I'm glad I started running my tires at 100, or I'm pretty sure I would have went down.

Made it home, had my excitement for the day.
