Wow, you must have been spinning pretty good, and have practically no stop signs or signals on your commute route. Lucky! I average about 11mph on my commute, but that's limited by having to stop at so many signals and slow down or stop at a bunch of busy 4-way intersections.

My route is pretty much a straight shot with little to no traffic in the morning depending on what time I start riding. The only time I stop is for a red light, switching from 48/16 to 42/17 was a big difference and definitely easier on my legs lol.

cali_axela 10-23-12 03:39 PM

Nice; that's a huge difference! I just switched from 46/16 to 46/17 and I think it's perfect, now. I can't imagine going downhill with any lower of a gear than this... 42/17 sounds really low.

I just can't help it but <3 my sqrl
She was flipping through it as I came in back from work and I had to backtrack and take a closer look at the cover of what she was reading.

On the other hand, how does she know about this?

Anyhow, just flipping through it and skimming some of the more relative sections to me, this is a must read for anyone who owns a cinelli. :thumb:

Yeah 42/17 is pretty low but I'm on a ss, thinking about switching to fg but I have never been on a fg before so I'm a little intimated by not being able to coast downhill lol.

cali_axela 10-23-12 04:32 PM

I've only been riding fixed for a couple months, you will probably scare yourself a couple times the first couple days by trying to coast, but it's not hard to pick up at all. Definitely recommend trying it for a couple days at least, see if you like it. I love it for commuting.

RGNY 10-23-12 05:08 PM

woke up to a tick buried in my thigh, then proceeded to have a stick snap off the bottom of my front fender.

but, saw "Looper" and it was much better than i expected.

i'll call it break even.

BigglyPuff 10-23-12 05:11 PM

Totally overreacted to a security guy on the corner of some construction site that overlaps the bike lane. He basically told me that maybe I should ride on the sidewalk on the other side, but I was all in "mash home" mode and must have come off as a defensive a-hole. I wonder how we all get affected as riders because of all the crap that we have to deal with just to bike.

Dannihilator 10-23-12 05:37 PM

Today I returned home from Pa.

xavier853 10-23-12 06:26 PM

Today, I heard about my friend getting hit by a car. She is ok with no broken bones, only some bruises. Unfortunately her bike is SOL. Frame and fork are bent and the front wheel taco'ed.

I hate hearing about these. Feel like there have been some many this year.

Mumonkan 10-23-12 06:48 PM

Today i found out i never greased my seatpost binder bolt

went to testfit the aquarack that came in the mail and it snapped in half. Sweet.

Been thinking about this one for a while now- Is there anything in there about the Mountain bikes from right around 1990? I have an ottomila that I can't find much info about.

EVERYTHING cinelli is in it thanks to the author working so closely with the head honcho of cinelliXcolumbus. I'm even surprised to find the most recent DVS vigorelli shoes in it, as well as the red hook crit. & bolt, histogram...
Yes there is a section about 40+ pages long right before the vigorelli, MASH, laser, track/ fixed gear etc section toward the back.
This book is basically what you expect from an art book, high quality print and paper accompanied with description/ narration w/ /by insider insight. If you're looking for technical things this is not the place to look. But, if you need stock/ identification pictures/ pictures of cinelli stuff, this is the book to have.

That explains it; fashion blogs.
No harm done, it's the thought that counts. :)

You're far too sober right now, what with the proper punctuation and all. Do something about that.

Happy birthday.
