Bikes: See my sig...

Today my friend and I started work on his new extrabike... he plans to rock a Bionx in the rear.

We will have to stage some drag races when his is finished and bet my AWD Extrabike will come out the winner for winter riding although the 48V Bionx he has will let him drop just about anyone on good roads.

Today, despite my chest cold I went out for a 28 miles with a friend in some cool fog through farm country.

I managed to get a decent climb in this morning before it begn to rain again. I haven't done much FG climbing lately but I was pleased with myself. I'm still out but stopped at work to warm up a bit. I love how the rain makes people's IQ go down around here.

i shouldn't even say rain. Drizzle. It's a drizzle

all the top of the line bikes were out tidy. Some group enveloped me and it felt silly to be the only one on an average steel frame. I gotta stop ridin in rich areas.

Ftfy

today i saw a dude commuting on a cervelo fully set up for the track, mavic cosmic rear and 5 spoke front. Mustve been pushing 95 inches, was straining with such effort just doing down the street as if he was on a 25% grade

jackass.

Also saw a white vigorelli with untaped deda tarck drops locked up in a condition that would only say to me "this is my beater bike"

lotsa jackassery to be seen in boston, its fairly entertaining

No need to do that. It's not the bike that matters, it's the legs. I'm sure anyone around here can push the crap out of a wally world tank if need be.

Today was pretty chill. I went out for my first night ride in a while, and spotted a pack of wild roadies. Hung with them for a bit until I dropped out of the pack on a climb. Came home changed then went to my sqrls house. She made me a buritto then we did some yoga.(bad combo)

Today I took my wife and mother-in-law to their first CX race. Ran into some old friends, ate tacos, heckled my face off. Good times.

40F felt like a heat wave today. took a long route around town before going home after church. bought a Christmas wreath at a roadside stand and tied it to my messenger bag to bring home. wife and i finally had a quiet weekend and did the turkey thing. now contentedly bloated.

I'm sure you could rig something up w/rubber insulated clamps - thats what I did. Its pretty much the only economical thing you can do if you want to run full length fenders on a suspension fork with no eyelets. I'm running a disc brake though and it looks from the photo there might be some clearance issues w/the front brake and fender.

TRIED CAGES FOR THE FIRST TIME this weekend MAN DO I HATE THEM!!!!!!!!! fell a few times coming to a stop. Once on pavement, Once on grass, Once in straight mud. The straps are as loose as I can get em and I've tried bending the cages so they will fit my shoes better but I am still getting caught. I fell on some kid yesterday after coming to a skid stop at low speed, where normally I would've been able to jump outta my pedals and stand on my feet. Plus they are hard to get into. I have to stop then balance myself on something to get into them. Worst purchase I have made in a while.

I am far from being an expert on e-bikes... there is a great forum for that here.

Have been too busy to enjoy mine as I have spent the past few weeks re-tooling my shop and tomorrow I can walk in and have everything I need at hand. Scored a set of Rigid tube benders from a guy who had retired from doing field work and saved myself $500.00 over what these would cost new.

They need a little cleaning up but are pretty essential...
