Decision has been made to shave the legs, it happens tomorrow. Question is, should I go all the way up, or just halfway up the thigh (barely above where my shorts end)?

Plus -500 brownie points with the gf, even if i told her it would make my legs look super muscular

It depends on how you guys keep your boys trimmed. If you completely bair up top, you gotta shave above the knee. Otherwise, just have to the bib line.

I'm going to look so funny. Fairly hairy from the waist up, completely clean shaven from the waist down. People who don't know I ride bikes are going to think I'm some sort of freak haha

A while back I had to shave over some road rash and the surrounding area. I used my gf's Gillette Venus and I didn't feel a thing. I wish I had used them when I would shave my leg, I used my own crappy disposables and it was a nightmare for my skin

Well, I'm going to take it nice and slow. It was a package of four razors, so I'll probably end up using 3, if not all of them. Going to feel so weird in the wind.

If you have a Gillette or something with replaceable cartridges, you can just keep it in baby oil or something when you're not using it, and it'll last you forever.

Thought about doing it that way. I got an electric razor back in October for my birthday, So I've been using my Gillette Fusion for other things. After this first shave thats going to take forever and be really rough, I'll probably start using that. Its just going to take soooooo loooooong tomorrow.

Ok dudes here's how the shaving thing goes:
-If you have an electric shaver - use that first to tame your Chewbacca fur.
-Now that you've done that, USE SHAVING CREAM. You can experiment with soap + water + baby oil later, after your first time.
-Use a BRAND NEW razor. Something with 3 blades - don't use disposable. Gillet Mach 3 are the best IMO. Replaceable heads = win. Once you figure out if this is for you go to Dollar Shave Club and buy from them. Much cheaper.
-Get you leg damp, apply shaving cream like you're shaving your face. Start at the ankle. Apply minimal pressure - this is where newbies butcher themselves. Go slowly, at first.
-Work you way up in long, slow passes starting from right above the angle, halfway up the shin. Work your way around your leg.
-Relax your calf, don't flex.
-Use the same light pressure technique on the top of you knee (another butcher zone if you aren't careful).
-For the back of the knee, extend your leg out and twist your torso so you're looking over your shoulder-ish to the back of your leg. This straightens out all the tendons and gives you a reasonably flat surface to work with. Light-ish pressure here.
-Here's where you can choose what sort of man you are. Do you leave a hairline or go all the way? No right answer - do yo thang. For what it's worth, I do both, depending on how lazy I am. Usually I'm not lazy and shave all the up. While you're there, shave the boys. If you have a gf/bf, they'll appreciate it.
-rise off and repeat with other leg.
-Apply non-scented lotion or baby oil afterwards to prevent razor burn. If you did all this right it should take you ~10-20 minutes. Repeat once to twice a week (depending on how fast your hair grows or when you are racing).
You're welcome.

Thanks dude! I was really wondering about the back of the knee/kneecap, because those are the two spots that aren't really flat. Have you ever tried anything like veet? My ex did it to my feet a few years ago (straight hobbit feet), and that **** got everything off. But it had a long lasting after feel.

2. The Pros do it.
3. Therefore, it is tradition.
4. Your legs look way better. I work hard to get well-defined leg muscles, I'm going to show them off.
5. I wont take you seriously in a race and assume you're a fred (until proven otherwise).
6. Did I mention the pros do it?
7. If you get messages, they are way less painful with shaved legs. Thankfully, my gf is awesome at messages so I get this benefit.
8. It is infinitely easier to apply embrocation and sunscreen.
