Keep the yellow one because it matches your helmet.

Or get rid of both of them and get a fixed gear.

I have a matching helmet for black and red too..so..I have no choice - both will go for fixie.

should i build up a colossi al colossione?
ive emailed colossi and theyve told me all the details, i just need to earn enough money for my fantasy build.
only reason im asking is that they seem very pimp and suprisingly cheap, but i have only found ONE picture of one built up(on their facebook page). ive searched andd searched and i havent found a single person who can claim that they ride one.
whats up with that?

Nagrom_ 11-03-12 11:12 AM

Everyone who rides a superb sprint can vouch for the calossione.

Spoonrobot 11-03-12 08:51 PM

Cracked the bottom bracket shell on my current conversion so it's new frameset time.

Kilo TT?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-OLD-SCHO...item2ea9906808

Nashbar Nekkid (+ Retro-gression steel fork)?
http://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...49_-1___202389

Essentially these are the same price. Should I low-end aluminum or low-end steel?

Nagrom_ 11-03-12 08:57 PM

Id rather get something tried and true.

go with the kilo.

striknein 11-03-12 09:03 PM

Kilo TT

Spoonrobot 11-03-12 09:05 PM

Ya. Not a lot out there on the Nekkid. Although I really like the look of the frame/fork combo:

I'll probably just go with the Kilo.

Nagrom_ 11-03-12 09:07 PM

eh, why not? get what you want. It doesnt look half bad.

doesnt really matter what it is, im sure they'll be fine.

The "Should I..." Thread

I wouldn't get the Nashbar. Someone was unpacking one at the co-op and it was a mess. Rear spacing was off, slightly bent drop out, steel dropout inserts didn't fit.

Should I sell my Tarmac and get an All City Mr. Pink?

I'm trying to find a reason not to.

Nagrom_ 11-05-12 01:10 PM

No cause its stupid.

But why? My Tarmac weighs 19.08lbs, while my 722(with that heavy ass chrome fork) weights 20.05lbs, so weight can't be a reason. My 722 rides nicer and is sturdier with a steel frame and fork. Makes me want my road bike to be steel. If I sold my Tarmac, I could build up a Mr. Pink from the frame and afford to put a decent wheelset on it(better than the boat anchor set on my Tarmac), along with a 105 or Force group and just about break even.

If nothing else, I could just sell my Tarmac framset, buy the Mr. Pink frameset, and swap on all the parts and end up with money in my pocket.

Not sure it's the frameset that's the problem if you're worried about weight. A Mr. Pink frameset is 6.5 lbs and i would guess the tarmac is not nearly that heavy.

And can you fit a Mr. Pink? the sizing seems limited.

other than that I say go for it. it looks really nice.

jesus just looked at that geo, its the opposite of leader

I'd much rather ride a heavy frame with light wheels than vice versa.

I'm not worried about weight, the bigger issue here is for me to lose weight, but I'm saying that weight is supposed to be a big "feature" of carbon fiber, and if my lightweight carbon fiber bike weights almost as much as my full steel fixed gear, there's a problem here. I can't afford to replace everything on it to make it lighter weight and ride better, so it seems to make the most sense to gain weight in the frame area, and have some lighter parts and end up with a bike that has a similar weight, but is sturdier and rides similarly/better.

Just looks like I'd need a 52, and it should fit me damn near perfectly. Same TT as my 722 with a slightly longer seat tube, which is fine. I wish I could test-ride one, but I think it should be fine.

Thanks. I can always rely on you to help support my absurd bike/part buying decisions.

That's what I'm saying! I should have enough extra money to build a new wheelset(unless the 105/CXP22 are not too heavy, but I won't count on that), and probably even upgrade some bits.

Should I join pedalroom? I have a lot of bikes, and a huge project I'm avoiding.

Well?

Yes, do it! Share your stable or at least what you want the world to see!

xavier853 11-05-12 10:17 PM

Well, it's basically overrun by indonesian fixies

Don't you hate on my PCOXcowXKFCXhotdog

Scrodzilla 11-06-12 06:45 AM

I should start my own site like PedalRoom - but only allow 25-30 people to use it.

GeorgeOwnwell 11-06-12 08:16 AM

With an extensive application process to make sure they know, understand, and build tasteful bikes (aren't from jakarta).

Muffin Man 11-06-12 09:12 PM

Going to buy new bar tape soon. Black tape, and put on my black romin, or white, and then leave my white romin on?

White, your bike pulls off the white nicely.

Plus I'll be putting a black Romin on my 722 before too long.
