Still considering spoke count. 24/28, 28/32, or 32/32. can't decide. I'll probably just go 32/32.
How much do you weigh? What pattern? |

x2. I feel like it's easier to part out bikes than to sell expensive, high-end bikes complete. YMMV tho.

Two reasons. One, it's a lot harder to sell a frame and wheelset than it is to sell a complete bike. Two, the last ride I put on it I did some climbing, and realized I chose some pretty bad gearing. Standard crank and 11-23 aren't very fun to do any kind of real climbing on. Going with compact and 12-28 this time around.
alot of the hills were over 15% and by the end i was just angry. had to stand out of the saddle for every climb ordered a new cassette the next day http://i.imgur.com/ll2gi.jpg |

Should I buy this 2011 HED wheelset (Jet 9 rear and Jet 6) for my track bike? Price seems very nice, $900 for the set with wheelbags...

I should start my own site like PedalRoom - but only allow 25-30 people to use it.

you should start your own site and limit it to the fixed gear singlespeed section of this forum.

I sold it.
|
In that case you should definitely buy a fork ... unless you are really good at wheelies. Wound up's don't look good on most bikes to me.
|
When I was in my 20s I did gnarly hilly rides with 42x21 low gear and loved it.
|
Seeing this GTB is what gave me the idea. I have the cash but I could buy a cheap fork and finish the build faster. So my decision is basically, buy awesome wound up and wait longer to ride it or buy cheaper fork and ride sooner.

Aesthetically, I find that a wound up would look more pleasing than the alpina you had on there.
