Ghetto mocha: bland coffee with a scoop of instant hot chocolate.

xavier853 10-19-11 10:11 AM

good hearty breakfast

When i was getting 40's, it was always mickeys. dont do that anymore

GMJ 10-19-11 10:21 AM

Yeah I was definitely looking for the highest booze per buck, and that stuff was pretty cheap. Didn't taste like piss either so I was pleasantly surprised.

I'm drinking some Melvyn's from the local Einstein Bros on campus. I really want to start making my own so I don't have to throw $1 a refill. Any recommendations on a good dark roast?

Not bad.

PluperfectArson 10-19-11 10:23 PM

I had to sit through a drinking and peer pressure lecture today.

Drinking is bad, okay?

Sarcasm aside, I think it is really bad. Isn't alcohol like straight poison for your body? Funny (and seriously tragic) that it's legal, but other things are not.

Oxygen and water are both poisonous, but so is everything in high quantities; however, alcohol is not straight poison for your body.
Did you know there is no difference in effect on the liver between alcohol and acetaminophen?
Also, nicotine is used as a pesticide, but many people still use it anyway, while it only takes 60mg (give or take depending on the person) to OD.
There are many things that truly are poisonous to us, but we still use them in every day life anyway.

I do not see why it is tragic that it is legal. In small doses, alcohol is fine for you, even has quite a few healthy effects on the body (if you want to believe the science behind it), but, in large doses, that is when things take a turn for the worse, just like everything else in the world. Too much of anything is going to be bad for you. It is when people do dumb **** while under the influence that tends to make the drug look bad, not the person.

I do not remember where I was going with this.

Maybe not tragic that it's legal, but tragic things happen because of people being allowed to do dumb things. If some kid in Arizona didn't get hammered and drive, my friend from high school would still be alive today. I'm not for prohibition, but situations like that are all too common. Kind of similar to firearms.

It doesn't make sense that a bar/club that serves alcohol until 2AM provides a parking lot, then lets people leave the club and get into their cars.

Haha, I thought it was a blatantly pro weed comment. I'm pro weed and decriminalization and I don't even smoke anymore.

Well, in large doses it's a toxin, but at two standard drinks a night it increases your life expectancy by something like five years.

Oh Irish Whiskey, it's been too long.

Peolple being "allowed" to do stupid things is called freedom. You can't prohibit everything that might one day be negative due to a poor decision by people. You can't fix stupid, either.

My sympathies for your friend. I'm not being callous, drunk driving is probably THE most irresponsible thing a person can do. I'm for better education and stiffer penalties for reckless abusers, but not prohibition of the substances.

yummygooey 10-20-11 06:30 AM

Last night:

Rogue Double Chocolate Stout

Capital Autumnal Fire

Blind Pig Honey Pumpkin Ale

Gin and Tonic

EdgewaterDude 10-20-11 08:03 AM

PBR was on sale this week for 9 and change for 30 cans. For whatever reason, that sounded pretty good.

RGNY 10-20-11 01:51 PM

Saranac (Russian) Imperial Stout

seau grateau 11-07-11 01:02 AM

Dogfish Head "Olde School" Barley wine ale. Frickin delicious and the strongest beer currently available to me at 15% abv.

CJWIZVRDGVNG 11-07-11 01:29 AM

Tejava

and before that a few budweisers, jack and cokes and lemon drops? i dont drink usually drink lemon drops but when i do, i drink them.

ThermionicScott 11-07-11 01:59 AM

I just had a couple of Moscow Mules.

fuzz2050 11-07-11 02:11 AM

Just had the Dogfish Head Burton Baton, and wasn't impressed, and the Uinta barleywine, which was very tasty. Good to know that Utah can make good beer, I wouldn't of guessed it.

crackrocksteady 11-07-11 10:37 AM

Busch Light.

I am totally regretting this decision.
