How should I respond kids who make fun of my shaved legs tomorrow at school? (I'm shaving them tonight)

Squeeze your nuts real hard and walk into class.

I, personally, would just wear pants.......

Kayce 04-12-12 06:45 PM

What school do you go to? I can hand craft some local advice.

Street rider 04-12-12 06:55 PM

I say homebrew tells them that he did it with a straight razor, and if they still make fun of them, he should offer to shave their throats. haha. With only a hint sarcasm. Just a hint.

Just own up to it damn it. I really don't even care if they cloned it, I think its a good idea actually. Remake a $1.5k vintage track frame so its more accessible to the general public? fantastic! Deny that that's exactly what you're doing when you have no ground to stand on? No longer interested....

Pretty much.

Now I'm thinking of finding out whether Pelizzoli can make a Leggenda road frame. I miss my Cannondales, but I want one with 130mm spacing and cable guides/stops. If not, I still want a Leggenda track frame.

Scrod- are you happy I'm clearing more room in your shop by buying that 53 Excel frame today? Hope so!

Well when I was in high school I swam pretty competitively, and I shaved it all for district championships. Chicks were entertained/curious about my shaved legs, so I let them touch it. And if anyone is going to make fun of you because of it, they're probably tools anyway (who won't amount to anything in life) so you shouldn't care.

Yeah, I shaved for swimming. I only had one dude (tool) in PE that tried to make fun of me. Everyone else looked at me like I had dedication to my sport and thought it was pretty cool.

One recommendation for shaved legs: silky pants. Contemplating shaving now just for the silky pants.

I actually like that better. And you had to do it dry.

For the record, I pretty much sum it all up in post #54.

OH. THIS thread. I had completely forgotten about this thread and was interested to finally see it. And then I instantly remembered having seen it before.

Yeah, except spaced at 130mm instead of 126/127mm so I can use modern road groups.

I used to ride a Cannondale Criterium and I loved it so much.

jpsawyer 04-13-12 08:54 AM

ugh. i went into the superb store in Boston the other day and it had this air of smugness about it that made me wanna feel sick. But the frames do look nice i must say

Jaytron 04-13-12 09:42 AM

It's serverside, BF server's are not so healthy as of late; I've been getting the same errors as you are and pages timing out at work where I'm using a ridiculous fiberoptic connection. I've even had to retype this, because of an error.

There is a BF FB page. Whoever runs it posts when there are server issues

Where the hell is the serial # on the 722ts?

ATX 6Speed 04-14-12 10:46 PM

Why is it that so many people seem to hate on Chub Hubs? I'm just curious since I don't know too much about them.

When I put pressure on the top cap with my palm, the bar didn't creak (bar and stem felt very solid, as they normally should), so I'm guessing the steerer might be the culprit and not the stem/bar. Any quick tips before I head into the shop tomorrow evening?

Edit: I should also mention that the headset's fairly stiff right now. If I lift my bike up, the front wheel will stay straight unless I push it to the left or right. Then, if I move the wheel back to center, it'll 'snap' back into place.

Your headset is likely too tight. To kill two birds with one stone, remove your stem, grease your steerer (just a little) and reinstall, being careful not to overtigthen your top cap.

I've done this two times and the creaking is starting again. Does it have anything to do with the shim inside the stem?

It could. I would add a few drops of light oil (or even chain lube if that's all you've got on hand) and see if that helps.
