The most surprising thing was speed. Subjectively, the TG's felt a little slower, but I think this was because of the comfort...sort of like driving a luxury car with softer suspension and not realizing how fast you're going. But ultimately...

I typically keep the front at 120 and the rear around 125-130.
If I magically lose 30 pounds, going back down to 105psi might make sense, but for now the 110-112 neighborhood is perfect. So, I'd say I'm sold on these tires, and that concludes my extended review. PS: Panaracer, you're welcome for the good review, and you may now start sending me free samples and royalty checks. |
Hey Scrod,
I have a quick question. My new frame (2009 Fuji Track) says that the seat clamp is 28.6 but it doesnt mention the seat post size. While I was for a seatpost I read that the size wouldnt actually be 28.6 but around 27.2 because of the wall thickness. Basically what size seatpost does my bike need? Thanks haha Heres a link to the bike: http://2009.fujibikes.com/Specialty/Track/Track.aspx |

So, second ride today on the Pasela TG 28's. Same urban route, but I ran both tires at about 112psi (used a Road Morph to pump, and the gauge doesn't get that specific, but i was a little below 8 Bar).
112 on a Road Morph does not sound like fun. Especially if that's your every day pump. |

(Dwight Schrute) False, it does. Keep scrolling down on that page and look at the very last line of the geometry chart: 27.2.

Seriously? You don't have a floor pump?

Yo, what kind of bag does your sqrl (Angie) use?
|
I like how you put her name in quotes, like I wouldn't know who you were talking about
She's got a small Timbuk2 bag that she's had for a million years, a Blick's Pica (that looks way better than it performs) for when she's only carrying a few small things and a Seagull Black Bag (which rules but is enormous). |

No, my floor pump got mangled in the truck last time I moved, and the Road Morph worked so well I never bothered to replace. Never really found it that hard. When I replaced the tires, I got them from 0psi to 105psi in a couple of minutes each. I don't want to claim to be some sort of superman, but I've got pretty good upper body strength, and it's not a big deal for me. Usually, I can top the tires off in less than 20-30 seconds each every few days.

Just so you know, we've got a bunch of bags - in three sizes - made just for us by Seagull on the way. ;)
I want the deets, which bags are these? |

I and most of a touring group I rode with used Road Morphs, and we've never had that problem. I would not want to use a Road Morph as my main pump just because I don't have any upper body strength. |

As far as using the Road Morph as my main pump: I figure if it starts getting too difficult, it means I'm really slacking on the push-ups... |
i have a crappy little bell frame pump that maxes out at 100something psi, and it gets hot and rubbery if i go too fast at the high end
the faster air is compressed the hotter it gets, like a diesel engine. the same principle can be applied to fire making: http://www.grannysstore.com/Wilderne...ire_piston.jpg |
I have the topeak pocket rocket master blaster. It gets pretty warm when topping my tires off.

Dear scrod,
What would be a good thread to post this .gif in? http://i.imgur.com/0ed2w.gif Because I find it hilarious, yet I haven't been able to find the proper home for it. Thanks, Dan. |

Agreed. Or anywhere immediately following a post by evilcryalotmore, regardless of what he says.

Scrod,
Selling off some bike clutter that's accumulated in my garage over the last few years to fund a new wheel build. Up in the air between a chub or 105 front, or maybe if I'm feeling classy, lacing up a pro max. Hoop will be either an xr200 or 270, or an A23 (speaking of which, are these just being discontinued or are they actually going to send more of these back out on the market?) Anyhow, Chub says not to radial lace their road hubs, have you ever built one up radial for a customer? (in before that one dude proceeds to rant about how his radially laced wheels are wobbly and unreliable, because his hands are too). I know it's not wise to go against manufacturers specs on something as vital as a wheel, but I'm just wondering if you have any firsthand experience with these hubs. thanks in advance |
A23s are starting to trickle through again in some drillings. It shouldn't be long until they are fully restocked.
Regarding the Chub:

do you know if they are only going to make NMSW in black 32h again, or might there be more options this time? |
I have no idea but will find out.

Scrod, I really dont know how to explain this but, when i try to tighten my rear wheel, the axel stays in place for one tightening it on the left side but when i get to the right nut it starts moving the left side hence making my rim not go straight. And I can untighten one side, but then the axle moves for the other with the nut but doesnt come lose. Hahaha sorry, its pretty hard to explain this. Basically, the rear hub axel moves when i try to tighten the wheel. What can i do to fix it?

Regarding the Chub: I've seen a few of them laced radially but have no direct experience with it. QBP is usually on point with their info though. You may want to contact The Hive just to be 100% certain. Thanks again man. I'll call the guys over at The Hive tomorrow morning. |
