Hey Scrod,

What should I do about the hot yoga teacher chick who turned me down for a date but keeps wanting to talk me up every time we run into each other?

Hardup Pirate

Nothing. There are a lot of girls on the planet.

I've never seen a grocery store that doesn't sell it (at least around these parts).

I love cocksauce. I use it daily along with other Asian condiments.

Dave, can the RL726 lever fit on the middle section of my Nitto Noodles? If not, would the 31.8 (shim if needed) lever do the trick?

hairnet 11-26-12 01:32 AM

it figures.....I wish Huy Fong would put them out I honestly would have no problem paying whatever they want me to for a water bottle. As it is I often use an empty hotsauce bottle for water

What spokes are you using?

Muffin Man 11-26-12 06:32 PM

Yea I used that, just wanted to double check

Scrodzilla 11-26-12 06:39 PM

I edited.

I get the same numbers as you. Whether you round up or down will depend on the spokes being used.

Muffin Man 11-26-12 06:40 PM

Lasers.
Oops I forgot to round when attaching the note to the seller.

Scrodzilla 11-26-12 06:42 PM

Son of a *****!

I'll take care of it.

My bad haha.

Scrod, strange noise problems.

The sqrls Kilo TT makes a "bell-like ring," every time she goes over some bumps or rough roads. I can't replicate it by shaking it like I was King Kong (it's kind of fun because she has the 44cm).

Then on my M300, given that I haven't cleaned the drivetrain or lubed it up in the last month, I'm starting to hear squeaks when I start to pedal at a faster pace, and then I hear more of a creaking noise (think old rocking chair) ONLY on the right crank arm. I have a feeling that I should rinse the chain, lube it up, and clean the gears, tighten up the BB since it has been a while. Could be something else, though.

Any idea as to what could fix these noises?

Scrodzilla 11-27-12 02:57 PM

A "bell-like ring". Hmmmm....... Is it a brake cable making contact with the frame?

As for you, clean your chain, lube it and make sure your crank arm bolts and chainring bolts are tight. Also, check your saddle and maybe put a few drops of oil (or even chain lube) where your seatpost clamp makes contact with the rails.

Oh snap, I forgot to mention that my B17 creaks like hell when there is some pretty heavy load on it.

And yes the cable is in constant contact with the frame, since it's SS and has a rear cable. I think it might be touching the headset also.

Scrodzilla 11-27-12 03:04 PM

Can you replicate it by dropping the bike from a few inches off the ground?

Also, I may need to see a video of you shaking the bike like King Kong to make sure you're doing it right.

calv 11-27-12 03:10 PM

I'll try to remember that when my new camera comes in lol

I'll see in a bit about dropping the bike off the ground.

Street rider 11-27-12 03:12 PM

Since creaking is already being talked about...

Have you ever heard of a BB creaking and then suddenly stopping? When I put it on, it had pretty much never been ridden (same for the cranks themselves), and it wouldn't stop creaking. Now it doesn't make any noise. Could this be bad?

Nagrom_ 11-27-12 03:16 PM

Hub bearings have a break in period, might be the same for bottom brackets.

calv 11-27-12 04:13 PM

Dave, I got a chance to drop the bike from off the ground, and it indeed does replicate the "bell-like ring" noise.

Although at first I thought it was coming from the front, I cannot tell where it's coming from any more. I think it's coming from somewhere from the front-center part of the bike.
