Lol, does the bike have a bell on it?

Nagrom_ 11-27-12 05:23 PM

Scrod, what floor pump do you use at the shop? Are you happy with it?

I a new floor pump.

Dave, I got a chance to drop the bike from off the ground, and it indeed does replicate the "bell-like ring" noise.

Although at first I thought it was coming from the front, I cannot tell where it's coming from any more. I think it's coming from somewhere from the front-center part of the bike.

Use your spider senses. You'll get it!

I've got a fancy new-fangled air compressor at the shop but my go-to floor pump is the Topeak Joe Blow Sport. I've had one for about three years with no issues whatsoever.

Nagrom_ 11-27-12 05:45 PM

Well **** me! Just realized I got an early Christmas present from the grand dad. Goddam air compressor.

Was wondering what the hell I could use it for.

Scrodzilla 11-27-12 05:49 PM

For real? Get one of these and you're golden.

Nagrom_ 11-27-12 05:52 PM

That's awesome.

I wonder if I know a guy who can get one, and I wonder what it would run me.

Scrodzilla 11-27-12 05:54 PM

If you do, he can probably let you know in the morning.

Nagrom_ 11-27-12 05:59 PM

I hope I do, and if I did, I'd let him know he's the ****.

And then get one of these so you can giggle like an idiot at the fart noises it makes while you put grips on.

Have one! Haha

striknein 11-27-12 06:43 PM

****ing needle adapter is the bane of my existence.

Santaria 11-27-12 06:46 PM

What do you think of something like Sun Ringle Black Flags mounted to All-City Sheriffs (28 spoke) for a multi-use wheelset?

Scrodzilla 11-27-12 06:49 PM

I'm pretty sure Black Flags are designed for disc use and don't have a brake surface.

Santaria 11-27-12 06:53 PM

Well craptacular. Time to rethink the rim option. Thanks amigo.

Does anyone know of any good internal 1 1/8 headsets for under $100? The only ones I have found are cane creek. I was looking at the 40s series but I didnt know if there is something better out there.

calv 11-28-12 12:45 AM

Why not the FSA ZS-3?

http://www.retro-gression.com/product/fsa-zs-3-headset

edit: Sorry Dave, I forgot this was the Ask Scrod thread.

The ZS3 - as calv so rudely suggested :P - is not an internal headset but a zero-stack external cup headset.

FSA does make plenty of internal headsets for under $100 though.

Also, I figured it out, it was the brake able on the top tube. Spidey sense ftw.

Thanks Ill look at fsa. Also I picked up a pair of nitt track drops today and I was wondering if there is a preferred way to put a brake lever on them. I only know about reverse internal-bar cable levers I was using but I dont want to drill a hole in these ones. Thanks.

a lil more open question to everyone here, how often does bikesdirect restock kilo TTs? I'm looking at the tt pro but Im a bit short of cash. I just wanted to hear others opinions before i do something drastic to get cash in case they restock regularly and I end up feeling like a fool.

and yes I know there is a email list I can get from them, and I know there is no way to be certain, i just need to know if I should purchase now or wait till spring-ish.

Why the **** are you asking this in my thread? This thread isn't for asking "everyone here", it's for asking me questions (and I obviously don't work for Bikes Direct).

E-mail Bikes Direct and ask them.
