What made you ask this in my thread and not the craigslist thread?

Not really sure that's in the budget!

Also, an update on this:

It turns out dermatologists can help: my acne is much better now, but I have also changed my diet quite a bit. Really the only thing that remains are some small red splotches below my skin and a few superficial zits. In the next two or three weeks I'm going to cut out dairy from my diet and see if that helps.

In some cases, quitting dairy didn't help me at all. Antibiotics from a dermatologist did though.

I dealt with moderate cystic acne for about 5 years (about 16-21), and then had regular non-cystic outbreaks for another couple of years. Antibiotics (tetracycline) didn't help much in my case. Salicylic acid did help quite a bit, but it seemed to make the epidermis thinner and dulled the nerves in the area for months, even after I quit using it. I eventually just grew out of acne as my hormones calmed down. Whatever you do, don't take Acutain--I have heard way too many horror stories about negative side-effects to have ever tried. Just remember to not let it get to you too much. Your attitude and personality are at least as attractive to others as your appearance, so don't get too upset about skin problems. I was shocked when I learned from a few people how many women were attracted to me but afraid to date me because of my anti-social behavior. I would have had a much better adolescence if I hadn't let my skin get to me. Anyway, PM me if you have any questions or want to talk about it.

Thanks. Frankly, I'd rather spend more time focusing on improving my attitude around others and the rest of my physical appearance-hair, clothes, etc.-than worry about acne. For the most part it is out of my control, and all I can do is wash my face and move on with the treatment.

It's 10cm wider than the bars on the dmr, something's not right with that...

Aren't you a relatively young guy as well? I know a lot of guys I grew up with who were veritable pizza-faces (probably not the nicest term, but you get the point) and now that we're all in our early twenties most of them have just plain outgrown it.

Find something to get stoked on and involved in and you'll forget you even have it, maybe.

Just a heads up, citrus prevents scurvy, and is also really good for burn wounds.

Those are not mtb bars from the 90's, they were never that wide back then.

Hey,
So I was thinking about putting a brake on my track bike, but remembered that I have Alex R450 rims that are not machined, but they look pretty much the same as the machined ones just without the silver side. You think I would be okay with keeping them on with the brake? If not, I have a black Mavic CXP22 I can toss on.

Aside from the color eventually wearing off, you'll be fine.

scrod,

why is it that every caliper brake ive ever had on a bike always pulls to one side and ends up rubbing on the rim after a good squeeze on the lever?

have i always just had ****ty brakes or am i doing it wrong?
