seeing your kagero with risers on it made me think of this
how come riders will get mocked online by the fg community (not necesarily here all the time) if they put risers on an aggressive aluminum frame but it's totally acceptable to just always ride on the the top of track drops?

Scrod,
What are the best ways to help my bike lose some pounds? (Kilo TT Pro) My bike is fat.
I think going from steel fork to crabon fibre should save quite a bit of weight no? Other than wheels, I can't think of many other ways to lose some weight on it. Maybe it's not even worth it? HAha

Wheels are the best way to shave some weight that actually matters. It's better to ride a heavy frame with light wheels than vice-versa.

Not sure what to go with if I don't know where I'm starting :C

Not sure what the actual weight is but those Alex SUB rims are pretty heavy and straight-gauge spokes add quite a bit to the weight. If you want a lightweight wheel, KinLins or Velocity Aeroheads built with nice double-butted spokes are the way to go.

KinLins vs Aeroheads, which can support a 200lb rider on crappy roads better?

Either one would be fine built with 32 spokes. Personally, I'd lean toward Aeroheads or A23s.

Right on. If you'd rather have us build them or put together a Velocity build kit instead, let me know and we'll figure something out.

oh and what made you go with Novatec hubs for your new wheel build? didn't you have a set of pws once upon a time?

This. Novatecs are awesome and very underrated IMO. My Formation Face is built with a Phil hub and although it's a great hub, I felt it was a little overkill and too flashy. It's also a tank compared to a Novatec.
As far as spacing is concerned, just measure the distance between your dropouts.

Gran Compe hubs are also pretty nice but for the money, Novatec > Dia Compe.

I think your post was a valid one.

Hey Scrod, would there be any way we could put have restrictions put on new members? Like maybe they can't post a link until they have 25 posts? I think that would most of the shills...
#673
Yeah that's my point. Most people know a large portion of people with pure track drops ride on the tops 95% of the time, so why do risers get mocked with most people knowing that?
