Nice 650 front. pursuit geo for dayzzzz

ddeadserious 10-23-11 02:15 PM

Scrod, do you know the weight of the Leader S805 carbon/steel fork?

Scrodzilla 10-23-11 02:28 PM

Not sure of the exact weight but it's around 2 lbs with an uncut steerer.

ddeadserious 10-23-11 08:55 PM

Thanks.

Why do you think our marketplace here is so inactive? This is the first enthusiast forum I've been a part of that isn't full of people buying and selling things from one another and it's strange to me. Do bike people just keep all their leftover parts and buy everything new?

Scrod good sir,

I'm in the market for some orange handlebar tape. Something good in all weather...

Will any brand do? Best material? Cheap **** will do?

Thanks in advance.

Scrodzilla 10-24-11 07:11 AM

If you don't feel like springing for LizardSkins, Deda and Salsa make orange cork bar tape. Also, your lbs can most likely get you some generic orange cork tape for under 12 bucks.

Just grabbed some of the generic stuff, thanks.

Hey Scrod, you have any experience with pulling trailers? I don't have a car and I'm sick of getting cabs or recruiting friends to help me with my drumset on public transit. If I pack it tightly, I can probably get it in a 5x4 area if it's tied down. I've been looking at the two Surly rigs. Any advice?

In before "just play a smaller instrument."

I have done it on my fixed gear and it sucked, but I had to deal with hills. We have the big Surly trailer at the co-op and I have used it for some of our outreach. it's fun and people give you crazy looks

Scrod,

Is this the correct crown race for the FSA ZS3 carbon headset?

Scrodzilla 10-24-11 08:04 PM

The Orbit Z is a little different than the ZS3 but I believe the bearings and crown races are the same.

homebrewk 10-24-11 08:08 PM

How do you organize your huge bin of gifs?

Scrodzilla 10-24-11 08:15 PM

I have a library of external hard drives, all categorized alphabetically by gif types.

homebrewk 10-24-11 08:24 PM

Wow.

Scrodzilla 10-24-11 08:26 PM

Scrod, what are the benefits of platforms and straps when compared to the traditional straps and cages set up?

Comfort.

Platforms+straps are a ton more comfortable because of the huge platform pedals. Most track pedals have raised edges to accomodate slotted cleats and some find them a bit uncomfortable. My metal cages kinda tore up my vans too, if that's of any concern to you.

FYI - That's a motorpacing bike. It drafts behind a car to cut wind resistance to zero or less -- depending on the configuration, it can be in a low pressure area created by the car.

Check out the fork. :3 That's supposed to make it more stable, especially when bumping in the car is a possibility.

Current speed record is 167 mph. The attempt with the bike above was cancelled after it had a flat at a little over 100 mph.

Alas completely overlooked that part with all my dismay/envy to the gear ratio.

With all the "/not scrod"'s what if some one to sign off with something along the lines of "/better than scrod"? :innocent:
Not that there's any competition; well perhaps from Carleton. ;) :p

Hey dude, I'm going to sell my Kilo tomorrow, and the guy actually wants the stock wheels with it. But I've run into a problem I've never experienced before. The spacing on the rear hub actually... got wider? I first noticed it when my axle nut, fully tightened, was flush with the axle itself, whereas it usually tightens past it. Do I even make sense? I'll go take pictures right now!

Also, how's stock on the Kagero looking? I should have enough money by the end of the week.
