Anodization won't cover anything up. You will need to sand it way down so there are no traces of the logo then polish to a nice shine, then anodize. When you do this the parts come out nice:

I polished the parts when there were tiny pits in them then anodized them. They looked like crap as each tiny pit turned into a big black spot. I sanded every last little pit out with 220 sandpaper, then polished to a shine then had them clear anodized again. They look good now :-)

Ride Safe,

Joe

Cinelli is 100% amazing to deal with and I'm glad we were able to get you taken care of so quickly. You'll have your new frame early next week.

ho lee chit man... night and day difference with this and all the ruined Leader frames. I love you guys. Should have gotten a Cinelli over a year ago, instead of fighting another company for a year sending frames back and forth and waiting a week to hear back every time.

Right? Horchata is the best drink ever!

Horchata is great.

@Mumonkan I'd put in a spiced rum or maybe a sweeter whiskey like Bulleit bourbon/Maker's Mark. A dash or 2 of Fee Brother's orange bitters as well if you're feeling fancy.

At my bar one of our favorite drinks is made with orange blossom water, almond milk syrup (aka: orgeat), and 3 kinds of rum. So my easy answer was to sub in the horchata for the orgeat.

tl;dr - put some rum in dat

Which is what I said.

Scrod, I just got an Ultegra 6800 SM-BBR60 for free, and I'd like to swap out the Truativ PowerSpline and Sram S100s on my bike with it and compatible cranks, but I'm getting a little confused on what cranks I can use with it. Are there any specifically for fixed/SS that will work with it?

Proof that free doesn't always mean you got a good deal. I't's better practice to choose a crankset first, then the BB.

You're stuck using a crankset having a Hollowtech II spindle and as far as track cranks are concerned, you're limited to either the Sugino SG75 Direct Drive or the Andel Deluxe, both of which include bottom brackets.

AndjaVXC 03-06-16 12:05 PM

No big deal, I traded one of those free chains I got from Sram for it. Maybe I can find one of those cranksets used.

Beyond that (and this might be a really stupid question), but do they have to be "track" specific cranks? Could I use any Hollowtech II cranks with the right arm length, and just use a single chainring? Will it wreak havoc on my chainline or cause other problems?

You asked about specific fixed/SS cranks. You could probably use any Hollowtech II road crank without too much chainline trouble but you'll be limited to 130bcd chainrings.

Wait, the DD's are hollowtech II compatible? In a sense that I can swap out the sugino DD BB for a shimano one.

Yup.

Right, I just thought I'd start there. It seems like most road cranks are pretty long though, too long for use on a fixed or SS bike?

Unkle Rico 03-07-16 09:44 AM

Crank length isnt any different for track vs road -- all depends on rider preference and the compatibility between a given frame and set of cranks.

Cool, thanks for clarifying! Seems like there's endless combinations sometimes, gets a little confusing.

Unkle Rico 03-07-16 10:02 AM

Yep, it can be confusing thats for sure.

Lots of sites that talk about fitment though, here's one that seems to have some good info/guidelines.

Many road cranksets don't come in 165mm, which is a very common length for track cranks.

A longer crank arm increases toe overlap and the possibility of pedal strike while cornering when riding on the street.

AndjaVXC 03-07-16 10:16 AM

Exactly, and I wasn't really seeing much in the way of road cranks in a 165 that were HollowTechII.

Scrodzilla 03-07-16 10:17 AM

You should probably just forget about that bottom bracket and/or give it to someone who can use it.

Unkle Rico 03-07-16 10:18 AM

True but it still boils down to preference :thumb:

True but that's not really what he was asking about.

Yup, if there was more readily available for it, it would make sense. But like you said earlier, they all come with BB's anyway.

Yeah, there's really no point to that.
