Ask Scrod

Dear Scrod, just to make sure I got this right, were your spoke lengths 280.1 for the front wheel with A23's and Novatec hubs? 295.9 for the rear?
That's for 2x lacing.

but if black w/ orange stripe will suit you, Rubino's come in that combination.

You should just ditch the orange criteria if you're just looking for something durable and inexpensive. It opens up so much more without it.

Welcome!
S-300s are an awesome choice and you won't have any trouble with 170s. - even on a smaller 721 frame, there will be no toe overlap. If you're short or have short legs they may be a little overkill though. 48/17 or 18 are really nice mid-range ratios.
I don't have any first-hand experience with the Nashbar fork. maybe someone who has one can chime in.

Is 100 a good deal for the s300's?
Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions !

When are you going to get around to making more V.track straps?

Not short, but looking at the geo charts the longer top tubes on the leaders led me to believe that the 51 would be a better fit for me vs the 55. For reference I am 5'9-5'10 w about a 30 inseam, would the 51 be too cramped? I'm more worried about pedal strike than toe overlap haha.

That's cheap. Are they used? If not, make sure they're actually S300s (with a GXP bottom bracket). A lot of sites mistakenly list S100s and S300s.
No prob!

A few. I've also had lots of close calls while riding with brakes.

Do you mean the track pedals like the ones I use? If so, it's a 6mm hex.

Is there a way to tell the difference visually? They're new and come with a gxp bb. There are a few listings on eBay. If they turn out to be s100's would the sugino messenger crankset be a better buy?

Nah, the road pedals. It's got what looks like a 1/2" bolt. I have a loose pedal, and I need to get a socket set to tighten it.

I just looked. The ones Bell's Bike Shop are selling for $97.99 are last year's model. That's a good deal.

Do you measure the inseam from where the leg meets the hip bone, or from the bottom of your sack? For some of us those numbers are drastically different
Also, I know I'm guilty for answering questions in this thread, even though I'm not Scrod. Sorry.
EDIT: I didn't see the socket post until after I had left Target. I'll just head to the co-op tomorrow and take care of it there.
