Which color plugs would you think work on DP18s?

Scrodzilla 11-07-11 02:45 PM

The red ones should be fine.

Well then, there's your answer. Don't bother because you have no choice.

Ok. I just feel like it's a stupid rule... we should all be able to express our own "look."

What's the potential punishment for beard/moostache growing?

First you get a warning to shave it off. Then I believe if you don't you may end up getting a detention... which could even lead to a suspension as well.

hi scrod i was at zeitgeist bar in SF after my tattoo @ blackheart and saw a retrogression sticker.
were you there? or is someone reppin teh scrod. it was @ the bar too, so you have to see it when you get a drink.
if you didn't put it there, zeitgeist was like a bike messenger specific bar, with a giant back patio with a couple dozen picnic tables and bike parking inside. fun to get a pitcher of brewski and eat food and smoke cigs (when i did smoke cigs)

jimmytango 11-07-11 05:40 PM

You can contact the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. They will (no joke) send you a letter stating that as a Pastafarian having a beard is a religious mandate, and that they consider Friday to he a holy day, yet they don't request every Friday off of work or school.

EDIT: Sorry, I know this is Scrod's thread, but affairs of this matter are a pet issue of mine.

Dear Scrod

Why do my brakes suck? They didn't get worse, they just weren't very good to begin with. Is is the calipers or the pads?

IRO original equipment with longer reach calipers.

Scrodzilla 11-07-11 07:08 PM

It's most likely your pads. Kool Stop FTW.

Scrod,

When searching things on google and I find results on BF, it displays it in archive view. Is there any way to turn off archive view so when I click google results for BF, it displays the full page? I hate it.

Scrodzilla 11-07-11 08:18 PM

There isn't any way to turn that off entirely but once you're on an archive page, all you need to do is click the 'View full version' link to see the thread in standard forum format.

I currently do that, it's just a pain when I'm looking through a bunch of threads. Thanks anyways!

Mr. Scrod,
What dictates the different head tube badges on the 722? There is the ''classic'' oval shaped silver one that I've got. Then there's the ''modern'' style badge like ddeadserious has. Is it size or the year it was produced? I received mine drop shipped from Leader, I don't know if you normally do that or if that may have played a part in it? Or maybe it's just random?

I'll stop guessing now and let you just tell me :)

-Thanks!

hey scrod, if you're bored it would be awesome if you could suggest some new inexpensive bars and stem for my kilo..?

Seems like it's not THAT bad. If you were super serious about you could just grow it and make a big deal about it, protesting and everything. Start a concurrent student group, make it legit.

Start a movement man! FIGHT THE POWER!

Deda Zero 1 stem

Hoodrat compact drops

This is the setup I changed to. Muched more comfy than trying to run track drops everywhere. Very pleased. Don't forget to buy a shim for the stem, and a 1 1/8" top cap :)

It's totally random. If you'd like a different one than the one you got, you can contact Leader.

The really depends on what type of bars you want. If you want compacts, Jaytron hit the nail on the head.

Muffin Man 11-08-11 08:53 AM

I like fsa omega compact drops on my roadie.
The bend lets me have that flat bar to hood placement, but still gives me full use of the drops

I have a question about those A23 rims, Scrod.

Your description on the website is pretty self explanatory, but I was wondering if you had pics for comparison, and whether you could weigh in on just how much of a difference it makes.

Cheers

Scrodzilla 11-08-11 03:27 PM

You can't really tell by looking at pics but the difference in tire profile is very obvious when they're right in front of you. The 23c Durano I have on the front looks much wider than the 25c Gator Hardshells Angie has on one of her bikes.

Now that I've got several hundred miles on mine, I can say that they feel a lot smoother and faster than other wheels I've ridden, especially when cornering at high speeds - which is good because that's what they were designed to do.

I Have a Bike 11-08-11 04:29 PM

Nice! Good to know. If I win this frame I'm watching on eBay I'll probably pick a set up for my next build.

bbattle 11-08-11 04:43 PM

Hello, Scrod.

I have a question; are bike cozies the next big thing?

Scrodzilla 11-08-11 04:54 PM

Ugh...I hate "art".

hairnet 11-08-11 05:25 PM

Is it art or a craft? Anyway, i have seen one out here in Santa Monica. I dont see how someone bothers to ride with it and then go and cover the bike while locking up

calv 11-08-11 05:37 PM

What size what you call my hands, 4 1/2" wide, just shy 7" long.

Medium? Small?
