Angie's mum gave it to me a few years ago. How the hell did you know that?

Because you're not looking hard enough.

Just ordered these, you think my LBS would relace the front in a radial style for me?

Scrodzilla 10-27-11 11:13 AM

Sure, but there's really no point (other than looks) and it will end up costing more then the wheel is worth.

renton20 10-27-11 11:18 AM

Why would you want that? You would have to buy new spokes and pay the labor for a full build. It would probably cost at least $60-75 for no noticeable performance upgrade. If you want to spend that much money why not just get better wheels with nicer spokes and rims frome the start?

Soo__Fuego 10-27-11 11:31 AM

The look is what I was after, but yeah for the amount theyd charge theres no point. Thanks.

What do you think about the Osymetric chain rings?

jpsawyer 10-28-11 02:03 AM

Dear Scrod,

Are your dreadlocks this long to warrant a dreadlock tube?

Not yet.

Scrod,

Thinking about buying risers, and since I like everything about all your bikes, I like the "Retrogression Prototype" risers on your Kagero. Any ideas where I can find some comparable ones? Preferably with a 26.0 clamp.

Non-round chainrings have fallen in and out of fashion since at least the 20s, with the last big push being Sakae Ovaltech and Shimano Biopace in the 80s. It's one of those things where either you love them or you don't see what the big deal is. The only way you'll know is if you ride one.

Sheldon Brown was in the "like" camp and used a Biopace ring on his own fixed gear. He wrote an article about them here:

Q-Rings are ridden by quite a few people on the UCI Pro tour, including most(maybe all) of the Garmin- Cervelo team.

Hate

Bio Pace feels like Im pedaling squares

26.0mm risers are tough to come by. You'll most likely have to get 25.4 bars and use a shim. My vote is for the Leader risers. Those bars are nice.

Whats the purpose of this chain ring guard thingy?
