700' vert, not length... Think I might wus out and throw my 20t cog on the freewheel side for the last mile, as I can barely make it up on my winter geared cx fg bike running 38x17 after a couple hours of hard riding.

So I was dumb today and adjusting the length of my sram single speed chain. Popped some pins out, completely. But, I've managed to get them back in (stiff link though). If I can get the link to be non-stiff, is it safe to use? Or should I just buy a new chain.

Ordered, but don't have it yet- 2010 KHS Flite 100 frameset.
Went to Retrogreesion site, and see the Dia-Compe BRS 100 come in 2 reaches. Getting the remaining bits I need for the build- Question, do you know what reach for the Flite frame? |

When I take off my headphones I can hear a knocking sound coming from BB area on my Langster.. It is sporadic.. coming on ~30 kmh.. Should i change the BB (change the BB will fix it?) or just keep the headphones on? |
Are you certain it's your BB and not your chain or a pedal?

But what can be worng with the chain..It is brand new chain, brand new cog, brand new wheel and chain line looks perfect... Oh... Crankset is brand new too... I refer to BB right away because this is only unkown piece to me... |
BB knocking? You sure your not getting pedal strike on the chainstay or something? Rear wheel being too tight could cause some funky chain popping as the links get torqued to hell and back when pedaling. You may not be aware of it at lower speeds, but as you build up more speed, you also torque the drive-train more - hence a louder noise.

It is 2011 Langster frame and previous owner was a bike mechanic (or at least the guy working in bike store), who built it 150 miles ago..according to him...But who knows what shelf he pulled the BB from....
... I do not know waht assumption I have to make out of this... |

Like Sataria said, if your chain tension is tight you could get panging noises as your cadence increases due to the chain being torqued which would not be noticed under lower pressure.

I'm going to rewrap my MASH bullhorns with some tape that flexible enough to round the bend between the horns and the flats(the Deda Mistral, while super nice, is too stiff for it). I want something with some red in it, and was looking at the fizik microtex dual, and then some random stuff on Amazon. Any suggestions? Do you think my Kagero could pull off a full red wrap? |
In my experience, that Microtex dual is a mother****er to wrap around bends.
