Yeah! It's making me hate my day at work.

It's serverside, BF server's are not so healthy as of late; I've been getting the same errors as you are and pages timing out at work where I'm using a ridiculous fiberoptic connection. I've even had to retype this, because of an error.

There is a BF FB page. Whoever runs it posts when there are server issues

Where the hell is the serial # on the 722ts?

Why is it that so many people seem to hate on Chub Hubs? I'm just curious since I don't know too much about them.

Been noticing some creaking lately when I pull up and down on either side of my bullhorns. I tried applying some light oil to where the stem meets the bar, but the creaking still occurred. When I put pressure on the top cap with my palm, the bar didn't creak (bar and stem felt very solid, as they normally should), so I'm guessing the steerer might be the culprit and not the stem/bar. Any quick tips before I head into the shop tomorrow evening?

Edit: I should also mention that the headset's fairly stiff right now. If I lift my bike up, the front wheel will stay straight unless I push it to the left or right. Then, if I move the wheel back to center, it'll 'snap' back into place.

Your headset is likely too tight. To kill two birds with one stone, remove your stem, grease your steerer (just a little) and reinstall, being careful not to overtigthen your top cap.

I've done this two times and the creaking is starting again. Does it have anything to do with the shim inside the stem?

It could. I would add a few drops of light oil (or even chain lube if that's all you've got on hand) and see if that helps.

Probably because most of the people using them are just looking for some sort of dumb "cred".

Scrod,

Why can I get about 3 MPH more out of my rides when cranking Dying Fetus or Grand Magus, Misery Index or Mastodon when riding? Do they increase my gear inches or is it just that they make my street cred that much more?

City Hype 04-15-12 05:48 PM

yo scrod. do you have a geometry chart for the excel frameset?

It's on the computer at the shop. I'll get it to you in the AM.

Muffin Man 04-17-12 09:25 PM

the fixing screw keeps loosening on my nds crank arm every day or two. thats not normal is it? its a truvativ elita? crank, gxp, and every time i notice the play in the cranks, i tighten it back to the torque recommended on the sram website.

Scrod: Thinking of doing a century on my track bike this weekend for poos and giggles. I've done them geared and ~70 50+ mile rides fixed.. Am I a poseur if I drive my bike a couple miles in my car to a trailhead to avoid a 700' 10% grade hill on the last mile of the return leg? Should I just HTFU and grow some? Does it even count if I don't ride from my door?
