Four years and not a single flat? How much do you ride them??

No flat in 4 years is unpossible for me. I've killed Armadillos with glass within 6 mos. Night rides = surprise debris often.
|
I wonder if rider weight has anything to do with it?
They say that rider weight is pretty much countered by proper PSI, but I'm 120 lbs and have only ever had one flat, whereas all my friends (none of which are clydes, but are significantly heavier than me) typically have at least one ever other distance ride. Scrod, any input? I'd love to hear from the other end of the spectrum. |

Scrod,
What's your take on Schwalbe Durano vs Gatorskins vs (insert good daily tire here)? Looking for good long life and good puncture resistance. I've been here pretty good things regarding the Duranos. If you go the Conti route, spring for Gator Hardshells. The sidewall is stronger than on regular Gatorskins. |

Bah, Pasela TG's won't even fit on my Kilo. What a pile.

Sure they will. They make them all the way down to 700 x 23C >>> http://www.universalcycles.com/shopp...8&category=593

I'd be interested to see how well these >>> http://www.pedalconsumption.com/file...on_accela.html work. So far I haven't seen them for sale. I'm happy with my Fyxation Sessions, so I'd expect good quality at an affordable price.
@Scrod, do you know anything about them ? |
I haven't seen them in person yet so I can't really comment. I do agree that Fyxation's tires are quite good and the tread pattern on the new ones does look really cool - kinda like a Maxxis Detonator (which I'm also fond of).

Dear Scrod,
Why is your Kagero so ****ing awesome? |

Not tall. 5'5" and very skinny mountain goat.

Happy to report that dual velox rim tape seems to have taken care of the tube issues I was having with the DP18s.

(knocks on wood) holy crap, maybe you should take a dremel to it Scrod, now that I have the touring bike replacing my fixed gear as the everyday relaxed practical bike I'm more curious about moving to an Al track frame. I just can't help but feel skeptical about moving away from the relaxed road geo of my bike. WHAT SAY UUUUUUUU I gotta say, the idea of a super stiff track frame gets me going |
Hey dude, what is the appeal of half-link chains?

There's nothing you can do with a half-link chain that you couldn't accomplish with a single half-link at a fraction of the cost. |

The TK2 looka to fit the best but it aint that pretty. Does Leader go beyond 58? It would totally work if they make a 62
