hope this wasn't asked before.
Scrod, did you attend college or any type of schooling after highschool?

TejanoTrackie 01-02-12 11:47 AM

Hey Scrod - What do you think of The Replacements ? About the same time period as the Ramones. I've got several of their albums on my mpeg player for riding.

Any reason? They seem a tad pricey for what they are, but I was wondering if there was any other reason why.

Yeah, I've never been a huge fan of either but I've always felt that of the two of them, The Ramones were the more influential. I'd prefer to listen to The Queers or T.S.O.L. or Descendants, but that's me.

My Dad never graduated from High School, either.

But then he went and got a PhD from McGill...

What are the pros and cons of a wide rim vs a standard width? ex: tb-14 or a23

I "retired" as a high school sophomore.

They're kinda heavy and feel cheap to me, especially the hubs. Also, I hate really wide bladed spokes.

Read the description for A23s on the RG site.

I dig the Replacements now but didn't really appreciate them at the time.

Descendents, Misfits, Dead Kennedys, Cirle Jerks, Sex Pistols

Dead milkmen have a soft place in my heart.

The Ramones are awful. :innocent:

What is a "tubular-like ride"? How does a tubular feel compared to a regular tire? and does the wider/consistent profile take any grip away during turns?

It feels like riding on a solid tire as opposed to a hollow one. Like how high thread count sheets feel better than cheap low thread count sheets.

calv 01-02-12 10:31 PM

Dave, I'm placing my order soon but I want to buy the Rivoli chain tool you recommend. Does it work on all 1/8" and 3/32" chains or just oddly shaped ones like the KMC one?

It works on just about anything.

Thanks carleton. :)

Just the opposite, actually. Because the wider rim spreads the tire beads apart and creates a more consistent tire profile - instead of the sidewalls bulging out and giving your tire the shape of a light bulb - it results in less sidewall flex and better traction while turning, even at high speeds.

hamfoh 01-03-12 12:03 PM

figured it out!

Drummerboy1975 01-03-12 01:00 PM

Have you ever met Eddy Merckx?

Are you using the Campagnolo Centaur 68x111 f/triple on the Sugino 75s? Would have sent a pm, but my post count is to low.
