It won't be on the 930, haven't had much time to ride it the past 2 weeks.
It's the DJ bike or nothing as of late. |
Do you have any more pictures of your gold 722ts? I'm having trouble between the blue frame (http://www.pedalroom.com/bike/leader...ixie-blue-1732) or gold and more pictures would be helpful. Since you've seen the frame in person, which one looks more classy?

terrible creak noise coming from my right pedal. 99% sure it's the pedal. I took it off and retightened it, but any type of pressure on it at all brings out the worst noise ever in it. If I take my feet off them while riding it gets silent again. any idea? thinking I cracked it in a way I can't see from the exterior. it's the wellgo. louder than any noise our clicking gxp bbs made (this was on a sugino 75 setup anyway)
|
Damn, man. Rough use or what?
|
not really. and I didn't even notice it originally until practicing track stands in my living room (maybe that's rough?) :p - the noise was bothering me so I retightened and all that then went out for a short ride and it was a loud beast.
|
Sucks, man. You are forever haunted.
|
Are you sure it's the pedal and not your crank arm/spindle interface? Also, check the bolts that hold your pedal cages on.

That's what I was thinking too. If that's the problem, hopefully you didn't deform the interface.

I checked the crank arm last night as well, it was already tight as sin, I couldn't budge it any tighter. I'll just throw on another set of pedals here to see if it goes away
if it doesn't I'll investigate further http://bikeforums.net/attachment.php...hmentid=230926 |
Scrod,
Do you think a 722 w/ S803 would fit a 27" wheelset without clearance issues? or would it be foolish since I'd probably be limited on tire sizes? I just have an old 27" wheelset hanging on the wall I'd like to rebuild and use for a future bike. |
I'm looking at taking a jump into the world of wheelbuilding by building myself a rear wheel (and then a front wheel when I have the funds). For the rim I'm pretty much between the A23 and the Foer 41- I noticed the Foer warns against trick riding, which I don't do, but as a ~135 pounder who lives in a city with pretty terrible roads, should I be concerned about the rim's integrity? Am I going to fold it if I accidentally hit a pothole riding home at night? In general, which would you recommend?
Side note: What hubs would you recommend? Thanks! |
Dear Scrod,
What do you think allows a wheel to support more weight: deeper rim or more spokes? And will Alex Race 28s be sufficient for around 300lbs? Thanks |

Hey Scrod,
Can you recommend a kind of chain lube? I'm getting fed up with Triflow. |

How did you gain your vast bicycle knowledge? Any books you can recommend? I am currently reading Zinn and The Art of Road Bike Maintenance
|
Scrod have you used this one? It's a cleaner and lubricant

I have a question about installing Omniums. My friend has been riding on his set and has been complaining that the binding bolt keeps loosening up. I took a short look at it and tightening the bolt just adds a ton of resistance to the crank turning. In addition to that, he has wrecked only the drive side cartridge bearing from riding with the bolt tight. I looked it up and there is nothing to this so I'm confused.
