I have those hubs on my race wheels and love them. I know nothing about their durability, they are only race day wheels, not even warm ups or anything(tubies and our goat heads arent friends). But I love the hubs.

Which model is that? I don't think I've ever seen them.

Pista - I think they're the same as the Primato, but I'm not sure.

Scrodzilla 12-20-11 07:03 PM

They look very similar. I like that they don't have the big stupid logos on the sides.

If they're the same, they're decent and fairly light for solid/high flange track hubs.

Scrod: Is the Paul WORD SS disc the best option for building up a CX disc rear wheel? Mavic A23 rim? Or is there a better long-term solution?

Scrodzilla 12-20-11 09:16 PM

I have no idea - but the A23 is a Velocity rim, not Mavic.

Yeah, I just saw that. There's a decent builder here who I might just hit up. Otherwise, it looks like my only option to get away from the stock SS wheelset on my Furley is to go with a conversion for the freewheel. The Paul hub looks to be the most expensive part of the equation, but the longest lasting investment.

Scrodzilla 12-20-11 09:43 PM

It looks like a nice hub. You could always use one of these and a standard disc hub.

Dear Scrod,

Do you like my beats?

Hey Scrod,

Are the 721 V2 frames compatible with omnomnoms? Been wanting to make the switch forever.

V2 or V2.5? Either way, I don't think you'll have any trouble. It was the 725 that had issues.

yeah...getting that rear hub to stay is challenging. Was thinking about switching to some DA 7710s.

Question...any thoughts on h plus son tb14? running deep v's now with the Phils, but thinking of swapping out for box rims if i switch to the DAs.

v2, sadly. Thanks again dude!

Sherblock 12-21-11 03:53 PM

Scrod, do you know why people sometimes have chains hanging from their seat rails and (sometimes) looped around the frame? Sometimes I've seen half of a tube as well.

Scrodzilla 12-21-11 04:09 PM

To keep their saddles from being stolen. It's common to wrap the chain in a tube to prevent damage to the frame.

Sherblock 12-21-11 05:28 PM

That would explain it. Doesn't make much sense because if a thief could easily carry a $5 chain tool. But, it probably works just fine :thumb:

hairnet 12-21-11 05:59 PM

it's just to stop the opportunists that carry hex keys and swipe saddles/seat posts

Doohickie 12-21-11 06:58 PM

Scrod,

Do you personally answer all of these questions, or does you personal staff handle most of them?

EpicSchwinn 12-21-11 11:18 PM

Scrod,
How did you get to be a moderator on these forums? - not asking that in a sarcastic, condescending way - I'm just curious. Do global mods invite users to be mods or do they ask for applications? What kind of fun superpowers do you get?

It's a long complicated process.

EpicSchwinn 12-21-11 11:22 PM

:)

Dannihilator 12-21-11 11:27 PM

I figured that I could answer that since it seems that I have been a moderator here since dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Santaria 12-21-11 11:32 PM

To continue my line of noobie bull**** questions. can I use any single cog freewheel on a flip/flop hub? Our am I better of with ENO types. BB is excentric. Almost forgot, this is the furley frameset so it does not have track drops, but horizontal, so is running the fixed impossible?
