Any seat post advice?

I definitely can't take on another project right now.

I think it's just trendy to use Thomson stuff on Kageros.

As for myself - unless I'm using a Brooks saddle, I generally don't like setback posts because of lower back issues.

Do you use the 722 in the snow?

Scrodzilla 01-21-12 03:15 PM

I usually ride my Raleigh beater.

ddeadserious 01-21-12 03:34 PM

Any advice on grease for bb threads, etc? I thought I remembered you answering it at some point but couldn't find it.

Cool.

gayngs 01-21-12 05:42 PM

Do you happen to know the stand over for the Kagero?

I've never put a rear brake on a 722 so I have no idea. But yeah, sliding the wheel forward should "fix" it.

Yeah this was it, at least mostly, much much better if I can get close to slamming the wheel.

I've never even measured mine.

I typically use Finish Line ceramic grease but any lithium or marine grease will work just as well.

Cool, got a Home Depot gift card for Christmas, I'll go buy some grease with it. Thanks.

Back to that one.

In terms of components, where do you think I should start to drop weight on the CAAD10? (aside from wheels...)

Xgecko 01-22-12 03:52 PM

Does KMC make a 710 style chain in 3/32"

Muffin Man 01-22-12 06:32 PM

a 1/8th chain is compatible with a 3/32 chainring and cog right? Not the other way around?

The 710-SL comes in 3/32". We have some on order that should be arriving by this Wednesday.

Anthropy 01-22-12 09:16 PM

I have some Zefal plastic toe clips that still are not large enough in the toe box. Local bike shop said that just by riding, it will enlarge the toe box. I did not think resin would stretch. Does that sound correct?

The shop said that metal would be worse for the toe box. But I have seen people talking about bending the metal clips. I would think that if you can bend them, then the MKS deep clips would be a good candidate for modification if I need a bigger box. Does that sound correct?

i run a 3/32" drive train & am pretty sure that it is the 810 that comes in 3/32

if you are going to carry kmc k810sl at a decent price you can consider 1 sold...

Scrodzilla 01-23-12 07:53 AM

Brain fart. The 3/32" version is called the 810-SL.

ddeadserious 01-23-12 02:40 PM

Scrod,

The Kagero is touted as a limited edition, limited stock deal. I was curious if you knew what the productions numbers are roughly?

Scrodzilla 01-23-12 03:09 PM

I'm not sure but I could find out. For some reason the number 600 sticks out but that may be something I made up.

 No big deal, I was just curious since I don't think I'd seen it on the internet anywhere.

BigglyPuff 01-23-12 06:27 PM

Is the Park BBT-19 the tool used to install/remove GXP bottom brackets for Sram Omniums? Just want to double check.

Also, on a scale of 1-10 (10 being absolutely necessary) how crucial is it to use a torque wrench when installing bottom brackets and cranks?
