is that divider collpasible or what? i've been going back and forth about it, but i want ot have the option of packing a good amount of stuff in there. when i ride to school with the crappy bag i have now, all of my folders and flat things end up curled up in the bottom of my bag. i was thinking the divider would help eliminate this problem, but i don't want to lose space. whatta ya say?

pitboss 02-05-05 11:09 PM

yeah, it was flexible - not a hard divider, but canvas or cordura (my original reload bag was canvas). it did the trick.

note - your avatar makes me hate things

Be suspicious and non-buying of all things Abercrombie.

I won't dis any but the pretenders as far as bags go.

This is a dreaded "messenger style" bag, the design is just an expandable attache case. If it don't say Cordura it's a cheap knock off asian milled fabric which has a thickness of 1000D and only a fraction of the abrasion resistance of Cordura or even a "cordura like" the strap isn't angled for riding, no sway strap or waist strap, no liner for waterproofing, strap is attached via cheap plastic square loops that cause strap to bunch and bind when worn over shoulder like a messer bag instead of on the shoulder like a purse or side bag, no surprise because that's where the design originates. low weight poly strap will not retain shape, strap bunches within strap pad, zipper is prolly coil not ladder, mesh will come apart when you put anything sharp like keys in, the expansion feature cause baloon effect, allowing you to hold more while bag takes on shape of an over sized bowling ball. no cam or cinch for keeping strap short for wearing close, instead a series of lock loops that will allow starp to bunch.

And thats without looking at it.

A & F depends on their name to sell this sort of accessory. It's fine for walking from the caar to the office but if you ride with it.well, you would only do so a few time cause you'd quickly tire of it sitting on your top bar instead of your back though your back would complain either way. (presuming you put something in it)

A & F doesn't even have the decency to properly ID it as a messenger style bag i bet.

Now i'll go see if i got any of that right :D

I'll never know, my 2 minute search allotment ran out and I started looking at computer stuff on ebay.

nice that they didn't put many out, if there isn't a pic of a product onscreen in 2 min of searching it didn't amount to much.

A&F also sold shirts making fun of Asians
and thongs for 14 year olds.
I'm sure Jon Bailey's record is a lot better.

thanks for reminding me Merton.

Nah, I wasn't expecting a good review, but I figured I'd ask here since I saw it was like "eh??? Nahhhhhh. Got to be a piece of crap" That's actually what I said. Out loud. Also, figured it should get a mention in here in case someone else is inquiring about them in the future. There's is NO information anywhere online about this bag. At least now someone else will get a hit on Google and will know to steer clear of the bag.

But trust me, I've been trying to save. Not easy on a state workers budget. I'm lucky I can get groceries some weeks. $120 is a long ways away. I'm thinking of the Jandd Andrew or Iniki. Closeout prices are very reasonable, and I LOVED my Jandd bookback in highschool so I trust them. Plus, I saw the Andrew in my LBS today and I really liked it. I'm wondering if the Iniki might be too big though. The old version doesn't really have compression straps. But at $54, you cant go wrong. I really want the honkin' big strap pad though.

You're thinking of the catalogs that Bruce Weber shot for Abercrombie. Plenty of nudity, and you had to be over 18 to buy it. It was hugely successful in that the controversy stemming from it was an enormous (and I would say intended) base for exposure of the brand in media. Mr Weber made a few million bucks for shooting each one. I don't think the catalogs were that bad in and of themselves, but given the target audience of the brand it was definitely not the appropriate move. But then, that was probably the point to start with. Controversy creates sales.

SamHouston 02-08-05 06:05 AM

yah they got into the stew wit the catalog but also for marketing thongs to the 8-12 year old buyers. The catalog was soso publicity but the thong was horrible

Thank you! and God bless...

ink1373 02-14-05 02:33 PM

well, i have things to say, and things to ask;

first thing is that my lady bought me a chrome bag for christmas, and it just arrived (yes, the middle of february) and it arrived the wrong color. on top of that, they lost her order once, and apparently lied when they said that they still had the correct size/color information.

the moral is, if you're going to get a chrome bag, get it in a store, don't deal with their nightmarishly poor customer service.

so, as a result of this, we decided to get some reload bags. i was wondering if anyone could attest to the difference between the courier and deluxe models. are the bonus features on the deluxe worth the extra 60 bones? the extra straps and reinforced bottom sound pretty nice.

lastly, does anyone have an idea how long the wait is on reload bags these days?

pitboss 02-14-05 02:49 PM

yes - it is worth it if you NEED them. Always high quality. And I think the wait is 4-6 weeks depending, but you can ALWAYS email them
info(at)reloadbags(dot)com

nine 02-14-05 03:15 PM

i put my order in about 4 weeks ago and they told me it should be done sometime in the next week - so 5 weeks seems to be accurate. although in my case, I deserve to wait much longer since i changed my order around at least 3 times (color, size and a momentary consideration of my own custom design). Ellie has been super nice about my indecision, so i would rate their customer service at A+. think long and hard before you order though, since there are so many options. i've seen their bags at trackstar and they are beautiful. i'll post pics when it arrives. i can't wait.

neuron 02-14-05 11:28 PM

well, reload's deluxe features are pretty nice. but the feature i can't live without are the 3d pockets. they rock. i can keep lots of stuff in them and keep the main compartment for big boxes and such. lunch, water bottles and junk like that lives in one of the pockets.

if i were going to get a new bag, i'd get one with 3d pockets. i'd also want to get a pump holder of some sort, and a smaller tighter 3d-ish pocket for my tools. or maybe 3 3d pockets, if they'd go there. i find i don't use the internal pocket as much because it deforms a bit. it may be good for magazines and papers, but not surprisingly a 3d pocket accommodates that much better.

in summary, 3d pockets.
