Went on a group ride with the LBS last night. Normally it takes me closer to 3 hours and then some when riding that distance solo, so this is a personal best.

A great benefit I find when doing group rides. I feel like I push myself on my solo rides, but not even close to what I'm capable of, apparently.

I can honestly say that I have never done a group ride (out side of an organized ride like the New York Century). All of my rides are solo. I need to find a group go join.

Group rides are fun but I still do enjoy most of my riding solos.

I've road with four other friends once before. One of them threw up halfway into the ride from going to hard and only having hot wings in his belly.

Needless to say, we made fun of him.

But 98 percent of the time I ride alone. I wish I had a group to ride with. Sometimes I'll pace roadies on the trail a length or two back for a few miles when I'm lonely.

36 mile ride all over town. Was a beautiful day.

New chainring looks so much better AND my drivetrain has never been smoother or lacking so much in noise. I guess their proprietary tooth profile is as advertised. The only thing that remains stock on this bike is the frame and headset. I got to go very fast for a sustained effort today.

It's a dope ass path. One direction leads you to downtown and the other direction takes you to a neighboring city ~30 miles . Varying from flats like pictured to curvy, steep climbs and descents.

In a about two weeks the path will be over grown with all sorts of wild flowers....will probably retake photo then

Please do, it's already very pretty without flowers. I'm surprised there is not a ton of dirt and rocks on the path.
I wish we had some cool paths like this in san diego.

It could be clear since it looks like they landscaped recently. Maybe they used a blower. The path is definitely not free of debris, and has a few spots that could benefit from proper drainage. Some areas tend to pool up and leave mud after rain. Not complaining, though...

While our cycling infrastructure isn't at all perfect, I do consider myself fortunate for what we have been provided and also the direction in which we are heading to accommodate the growing population of commuters/cyclists.

There are plans to build two more paths like this within city limits and also an extended plan that would ultimately build a path that will connect Austin to San Antonio - ~90 miles. These projects and the improvement and expansion of the infrastructure are all very exciting! I'm sure a city like Sandy Eggo won't be too far behind...

It's a dope place to ride, in the city and all around the surrounding Hill country. Pretty challenging all around. You can even pay a visit to Lance's bike shop

I don't know why I didn't understand that. Makes complete sense now. And I definitely agree!

It is a Garmin 800. I love it, probably one of the best things I've purchased for my bike.
You can get turn by turn directions on the screen, but you need to pre-make the routes. I think there are higher end ones that do real time routing.

It gives you some good data:
