I lock my bike in a locked garage. Where I live is a little hood though. I know a few people who lock up in their house.
I also have a "cheap" bike and have my cheap Charge saddle secured to my bike via old chain. I use a U-lock and another cable and lock for the wheels.

Most places do not let people take their bikes inside because of insurance purposes. If another customer trips over your bike and hurt themselves, the business will be responsible.
And no, your bike is not "art." A grown man should not have a furry doll. You do not have unique styles by acting feminine.

also, those who think they can judge art really have no buisness judging art. amiright?? <3

Yeah. Im taking a wrench in my walled the size for my seat post from now on. Its just not worth it. I don't want another mishap. My saddle will be taken with me everywhere. And i will be walking my bike next to me and if I'm told I'm not allowed to do that i will go elsewhere. Just a rough learning experience that all could have been avoided had i not forgotten my tool.

I use a Kryptonite lock with some cheap cable. If I am super paranoid about where I lock up I can pop the front wheel off and lock both wheels and the frame with the U lock. I use old chain wrapped in electric tape to secure the saddle. The saddle probably isn't even worth stealing but I would still rather have it be there every time.
I don't like to leave my bike out in public on the reg. It is a beater but if it is out there every day someone is gonna **** with it at some point. At my last job I got a bike locker rather than leaving it at the racks every single day. All the locks in the world are not going to stop some teenager from vandalizing your bike if they so choose.
Kind of off topic, but at my current job I keep my bike locked to a railing in the hallway shared by 3 businesses in the same building. There are big windows opening up into the hallway so I can see it from basically anywhere in the front of the restaurant. I am constantly amazed by what parents will let their children do to other people's property. Kids try to sit on a bike that is just as tall as they are, they climb it like a ladder, and the parents just look on like nothing is happening. When I go out and say something they always play dumb and then scold the kid like they didn't even realize what was going on. I know being a parent is hard, but watch your ****ing children when you take them out into public. The employees of whatever business you happen to be in at the time are not your babysitters.

I keep them in my basement/garage, hanging on a 4-bike storage stand, with u and cable locks in place. About 4 months ago a neighbor had a grage break-in and the walked (or rode) off with two nice bikes... Also have a monitored alarm system and security cams (not just for the bikes, but it helps them, too).

I lock my 4 bikes together in my apartment because I don't trust someone not to break into my place while I'm gone and take them. Because there's been a lot of probs in my neighborhood with break ins. I figure 4 (3 if in using one) bikes hooked together with multi Locks and hooked to a large entertainment center or desk they'd be hard to take. Id rather they take my tv/ble ray and so on than my bikes

From: My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"
Bikes: to many to list
It matters that you think its ugly? Dude, all that matter is it works.
