Bike Security
Today I had a saddle (brooks
) and seatpost stolen. It got me thinking. Is my bike that secure? I have a kryptonite evolution mini. When i bought it it has some guarantee for 2k or so if my bike gets stolen. Is this an empty promise? or do they actually follow through? Has anyone had any experience with this? Anny info?

Do you have receipts to prove your bike is worth how much your claim would be in the event it gets stolen? If not, you may need to have your bike appraised by a shop.

Hire a bodyguard to stand buy your bike.
But seriously... lock up your Brooks or take it with you. If you're locking up in a super ghetto area then perhaps you should consider a meatier lock, two u-locks, or maybe just walking.

I use 2 u-locks and a kryptonite braided cable.1 u-lock on the rear to structure,1 u-lock on the front also to structure if possible and cable from front wheel around structure through frame ending with a lock to the seatrail. So far it's been enough of a deterent to lock my bike up all day if i can't take it inside with me.

Steel hub ball bearing + super glue in allen head of seatpost binder bolt + seatpost adjustment bolt(s). Nail polish remover or acetone will dissolve it when you need to adjust; a thief is not going to have the time to wait for the glue to dissolve and pick them out while you will, considering a saddle/ seatpost usually stays stagnant once proper fit has been accomplished.

i guess you can name a situation where they wont let me take my biek inside but i usually ask and they just let me. if a place doesnt let you take your bike inside, they dont deserve your patronship.

And no, your bike is not "art." A grown man should not have a furry doll. You do not have unique styles by acting feminine.

Most places do not let people take their bikes inside because of insurance purposes. If another customer trips over your bike and hurt themselves, the business will be responsible.

Perhaps not, but what he's saying is true. Someone bringing a bike inside everywhere they go is a ****ing nuisance, IMO.
A lot of places don't mind if you bring a bike inside but secretly think you're a pain in the ass if you do. By mucky saying if a place won't cater to his fear of someone fondling his unicorn they "don't deserve his patronage", that just shows he's a brat with a false sense of entitlement.
